Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this dark morning here in Finland .Great news for @Vegas Toffee Girl ,as we all knew she would be fine .I hope all had a good night and have a fantastic day today .We went to a 16th birthday party yesterday ,the wifes side are all big people the shortest man is me and the nephews and niece are all more than 185cm .Too tall for a 16 year old girl I think ,it must limit the choices of suitors .Nice people and a nice party but to drive 100 miles there and back is a bit of a waste ,just letting my inner Victor out .For VTG ,Victor was a moaning old man with a bald head who had a very tolerant wife .Hmmm Enough of that then .Have a great day all.COYB
My friends daughter is 6 foot - her husband is about 5’11 and they don’t care about the height difference. When I was younger in my high (3/4 inch) heels I was over six foot and it didn’t bother me one bit, I loved being tall. I feel sad for people who are conscious of their height and stoop to make themselves smaller. In fact it’s how I spotted my 6’4 husband across a crowded club - we were on the same eye contact level - head and shoulders above the crowd 😂. I do think you shrink a bit as you go older though and, weddings apart, my 4” heel days are well behind me.
I’m glad you had a good time at the party

Well what a grim afternoon- pouring down and windy here. Not looking forward to going to the game later I think I’d rather be snuggled up at home - but there’s always that chance of missing that once in a season game where we play like Brazil and have an unexpected win, so off I’ll go.

My Mum’s family were all “shorthouses”, Mum was 5’ 2” and her brothers weren’t much taller. Dad’s side, on the other hand, were tall he was 6’. I was constantly teased by my uncles, one particular jibe being “You’ll never get a husband if you don’t stop growing, gel”. They weren’t being unkind just a pair of jokers. This bothered me although I know it shouldn’t have, it does matter when you’re twelve and the most important thing is getting married. Even now I sometimes have dreams where I’m on a bus and too tall to stand up , I’m sure this goes back to those days. Enough of the psychology, it’s a bit early for that lol. Glad you had a good time, but 100 miles there and back - blimey!
When I first started work in the late 70's a girl in our office was 5ft 11 which was almost a giant back then, she was always self conscious as everyone called her lurch, her 2 sisters who were equally as tall married men about 6ft 4. Both couples had girls who were already over 6ft in their early teens who hated being that tall so my colleague set out to find a really small bloke hoping if they had kids some 'averageness' would work out between them. She ended up marrying a bloke who was about 5ft 1, they looked quite comical together and they went on to have a boy and a girl. The son ended up about 5ft 4 and the daughter about 5ft 10 so average if they swapped sex 😆

We have frequent squirrel visitor's and my ancient mum loves ( much to my annoyance) loves to wind the dogs up by shouting "squirrel" at the top of her voice when she sees them knowing that the dogs will bark out the window and the poor squirrel runs off.

Honestly I believe that she's regressing into childhood at 96.
A girl after my own heart. lol
