Hi All!,

We all had total faith in you girl!

Well done.

Hello everybody. Just catching up with news. So glad your job went well @Vegas Toffee Girl . I'm sure you look gorgeous @peteblue. As somebody said earlier, you deserve some me time and if it makes you feel nice then it is well worth it. Glad you're feeling a bit better @jazzy. Very sensible not to overdo it. @blue1948 your neighbour sounds very unusual. I'm a huge fan of Darwin. You only have to look at an emu or an ostrich to see what happened to dinosaurs!
Not much to tell you about. More blooming car trauma. Came out of Lidl tonight to an almost flat tyre. Fortunately there was a tyre place very close by. They found a nail in the side of the tyre. More expense!
Anyway we're out tomorrow with our friends for a Christmas meal. This means
I will miss the match. I'm also having a visitor to work with. One of my friends at work has just moved house but her Internet hasn't been connected yet so she's coming to mine to work. Should be a nice change.
Have a lovely evening x

Knew you’d smash it, so happy for you.

Mrs J was brought up as a devout Roman Catholic and went to Everton Valley a convent school.

She was always interested in science and all things animals and being the swot that she was did a project on Darwin and evolution. Despite being very young she even got her parents to take her to Shrewsbury, Darwin's birthplace so she could complete her research.

When she handed it in the nun went ballistic and dragged her to the head sister uttering words like "abomination, desecrated and the Devil's work".

Unsurprisingly Mrs J has avoided all forms of religion since that day and went on to become a scientist.

….went to a school dance at Everton Valley in the early 70s, my school wasn’t too far away and plenty of their students came to our parties. They were ’very pleasant’ those convent girls.

Great news

Good morning all on this dark morning here in Finland .Great news for @Vegas Toffee Girl ,as we all knew she would be fine .I hope all had a good night and have a fantastic day today .We went to a 16th birthday party yesterday ,the wifes side are all big people the shortest man is me and the nephews and niece are all more than 185cm .Too tall for a 16 year old girl I think ,it must limit the choices of suitors .Nice people and a nice party but to drive 100 miles there and back is a bit of a waste ,just letting my inner Victor out .For VTG ,Victor was a moaning old man with a bald head who had a very tolerant wife .Hmmm Enough of that then .Have a great day all.COYB

My Mum’s family were all “shorthouses”, Mum was 5’ 2” and her brothers weren’t much taller. Dad’s side, on the other hand, were tall he was 6’. I was constantly teased by my uncles, one particular jibe being “You’ll never get a husband if you don’t stop growing, gel”. They weren’t being unkind just a pair of jokers. This bothered me although I know it shouldn’t have, it does matter when you’re twelve and the most important thing is getting married. Even now I sometimes have dreams where I’m on a bus and too tall to stand up , I’m sure this goes back to those days. Enough of the psychology, it’s a bit early for that lol. Glad you had a good time, but 100 miles there and back - blimey!

Look away @peteblue, I know they aren’t your favourite. Round at my friends this morning for our weekly natter when this little fella dropped by. View attachment 237648View attachment 237649
We have frequent squirrel visitor's and my ancient mum loves ( much to my annoyance) loves to wind the dogs up by shouting "squirrel" at the top of her voice when she sees them knowing that the dogs will bark out the window and the poor squirrel runs off.

Honestly I believe that she's regressing into childhood at 96.

@blue1948 I went to see a film set in Helsinki yesterday.
It was very good, recommended if you get the opportunity to watch it.
Thanks I will look that up .Have you seen "Sisu" ? Sisu means inner strength , it is worth a watch .There is also the story of the unkonown soldier that is on film .Do you have a film app?
