Thank you ,my wife feels lucky compared with some ,she has a "bad " toe but the rest are swellings not disfigurement .The cold water helps my old knees as well. I made a hot tub from 4x2s but we only used it a few times per year and with having to change the water every time it was a bit of a pain .We do't have one now as with most things they are nice but you can live without ,it is the cold that is best for us .I must say that -10° in a hot tub was special though .

Daughter treated me to afternoon tea for my birthday last year. It was lovely. Alcohol was available although we didn’t have any. Yes I was joking about the dip - I haven’t been swimming for over thirty years.Morning everyone, miserable rainy day today but looking forward to a Christmas afternoon tea with some ex work mates later. Never done afternoon tea before- it probably sounds too civilised and alcohol free for me, but the company is always great - we’ve known each other for about 23 years. We’re known as the fridge girls - years ago one of the daughters saw a picture of us on her mums fridge and asked who it was, and the name has stuck. On the night of the massive snowfall years ago we went out in Ormskirk to a really nice tapas bar that has since shut down. Mr P collected some of us to bring us home and we got stuck in the snow near Skelmersdale. Two blokes walked past us to find out what was going on and when we saw them coming back I said I’ll stop them and see what they know. Believe it or not one of them was Duncan McKenzie!! Funny where you bump into Everton players isn’t it - we’ve had a few random encounters over the years.

Managed to find time for myself today. My hair had gone completely out of control as it had not been cut for months and months, and my eyebrows could have given a combover. Anyway, went to the barbers, V.I.P. Session, hair cut beautifully, neck warmed, massaged, oiled and shaved, I looked like a million dollars. Wife didn’t notice, nor my son, nor my mates in the pub…I don’t know why I bother tbh……

Good morning all on this nippy morning here in Finland .I hope all had a good night and slept well .
A big day for us, we have been invited to a mulled wine and cake shindig at our neighbours ,well about a mile away .They are one of the eleven houses in our village and our nearest neighbours have not been invited ! It looks as though we are being accepted as we don't really know them .The Finns are fine people but they all have a bubble and it is hard to breach it ,once you are in it is for life ,We do talk to anyone so that has probably swayed it .
