Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven


Morning all ,

Any kids or grandchildren waiting on A level results today? If there are , good luck to them. I got fed up during the 6th form and left without taking my A levels. As a consequence I didn't go to Uni which I regretted for a long time even though long term it's probably the best thing for me career wise.

Must admit that I would be reticent to advise a child to go to Uni now with the amount of debt that they rack up.

Anyway whilst Fred continues Carry on Cruising and Blue picks fruit like there's no tomorrow the rest of us have to deal with the minutiae of daily life which for me today means a quick visit to the gym , sort out my holiday clothes and then do some gardening.

Didn't watch all the match but brilliant result for the Lionesses and massive good luck to them in the final. They'll do it won't they?

I am sure you had that a few weeks ago ! Supposed to pick wild raspberries but I am feeling a little dizzy ,which happens when my BP gets low .So instead it is homemade sausage rolls to an Australian recipe and at the same time a Cheese and onion pie courtesy of the Hairy Bikers . I was doing them any way but any excuse to do them earlier .
 

Morning all. Greetings from The Northern Cape. Most northerly place in mainland Europe, and its bloody freezing. Still in shorts and T shirt though but I guarantee that won't be the case when I get off the boat.

Had a message from my sister saying there's an addition to the extended Fred family. My nephew's wife gave birth to a daughter, Melissa, 7lb. Unfortunately she sent the pic by Facebook messenger and I don't know how to get it transferred onto my phone to post on here. So I'm sorry ladies, you'll just have to accept my word that young Melissa is indeed very very cute.

In other news Rob made the schoolboy error of suggesting a nightcap in my cabin as there wasn't much going on. He didn't materialise at all yesterday so I don't think he'll be doing that again in a hurry😀 So I had to look up my old workmate for dinner last night and had a lovely time. Not for the first time this cruise I think I was the last up. I think we got the message when the crew started hoovering around our feet😀

Are the prices the same in Finland @blue1948 ? You must earn mega bucks in Scandinavia.

Crazy in the Jazzy household today. Mrs J has arranged for the kitchen and utility room floors to be professionally cleaned meaning I'm looking after the dogs locked in my study and Rosie goes mad every time she hears a noise.
