God we had to do so many mandatory on-line training. There was invariably a test at the end where you had to get a minimum of 80% otherwise you'd have to do the whole thing again.
Did I ever mention in here how much i miss my old job.
Not a fan of black coffee and the milk does just enough to dull the tang. There is method in our madness Fred.

Took advantage of the lovely weather down here today to get the bus into Falmouth again. My rent is due Monday, and as the neighbours have been away I haven't been able to get to a supermarket for well over a month to get cash out. Plus I needed to top up on my Iceland supplies, and get a new 2kg packet of Jasmine rice which they sell in a corner shop in the town.
Well because the bus journey home is approx 20 minutes, I have to time it so the frozen food doesn't spend too long out of the freezers. Anyway I found myself with 20 minutes to spare so the obvious thing to do was to pop into Wetherspoons for a quickie. Fortunately, the pub, Iceland, the corner shop and the bus stop are all within 50 yards of each other. Going shopping is like a military campaign for me.

So I know there are other folk on here, that no longer reside in the Uk, so hope this helps as I looked into topping my pension up……
I did phone the pension center, I can buy back to 2006 it will cost me £163 a year , which will make a difference of around 5 quid a week for every year, I will do that
Even for people in the UK it’s worth looking into if you retired early or you are not working I would look into it, just thought I would pass the info along , I’ll post the information in another post

National Insurance Contributions Update:
The guy encouraged me to share as they are inundated with applications.
Just got off the phone about back paying up to 16 years. Good news is as long as your NI38 form is received before the April 5th deadline they have extended any amounts being owed due to the volume they are dealing with.
I sent mine mid November and it was received by November 27th. He told me I likely won’t hear back until April but assured me I will NOT be penalized. They will also give you a time period to pay back and that will be in your letter you get from them once it is all calculated by the caseworker.
Class 2 is currently £163.80 per year
Class 3 is currently £824.80 per year
If you are moving back and plan to work make your own calculation as to what you need to pay.
I currently have paid 20 years prior to living in Canada. So need to pay 15 more years to get the maximum 35 needed to receive full British Pension. I will only pay 10 backdated as I plan to work another 5 years at least and worth the new rules you can always still make up an additional 6 years.
Using my example to try and help as I know it can be confusing for many of us.

Tonight's G&T Friday offering is a Sipsmith London Gin which I'm having with Fevertree tonic and a slice of lemon.
I first had this on a gin tour in Liverpool about 5/6 years ago. These days it's readily available at most big supermarkets.

Sorted mate.
Having fish tonight, Iceland style. Combination of scampi and Harry Ramsden's fish goujons which I'll be having with garden peas, tartare sauce and some seeded brown bread and butter which I've just remembered I need to get out of the freezer. No chips.
