Did you get the car sorted OK today blue?

They are real money pits in general.
Yes thanks ten minutes for him him to weld it and 45 € which was less than he quoted . I am lucky in that I can do some jobs but you are correct they can swallow up your cash . I long after a prestige car Lexus in particular as one of our friends has a saloon and a convertible and they are so easy to drive but it is the upkeep which is reflected in their second hand prices that stops me .
He had an old one when I came to Finland and the back went down on one side .It was the air suspension, the bill for a new "balloon " fitted was 4000€ ! He not long after sold it for 4300€ but that typifies my experience in Finland .
Even yesterday when I went shopping there was an offer on Reindeer meat that I couldn't see so I asked and the owner came to tell me that it was "in the building "but it would be a while to get it out .I explained that my wife was down stairs in the car and we only shopped two days per week so he said ask for me and of course you will pay the sale price on Thursday .

Good morning all on this winter's day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all had agood night and have an even better day today . Brazil look to be the side to beat but their second goal? I don't know how that is a penalty as the player didn't see Ritchie ne'ertheless it would just have been a matter of time until they scored .
I went for a short walk whilst they repaired the exhaust yesterday , it was -7° .Sure enough I hadn't taken gloves with me but it woke me up good and proper .I don't remember seeing it in the UK as the snow was walked on or run over quite quickly but at those temperatures here it glistens as though there are a thousand diamonds on the surface .I did try to take a photo last years but the movement we are making is why they sparkle and a still shot doesn'y capture it the same . Have a great day all.

Cars are an unknown to me and definitely an area I could be fleeced in as I don’t know what’s what.

Shops will do everything to entice you in and part with your money. One of our local shops never had the advertised sale items in stock, always sold out apparently until the price went back up again the week after..

Morning all, a lovely bright one after slight frost last night. Off to town this morning in the car. Mr G. new bus pass hasn’t arrived despite renewing it three weeks ago and being quoted arrival in a week to ten days. Council are blaming postal strikes even though it should have arrived before the strike. I’d rather use the bus but fares are expensive and parking free for two hours in Asda. Minor irritation, I know but annoying to pay a fare when he should be travelling for free. Anyway have a good day all.?

Good morning all on this mild day here in Hyvinkää ,I hope all had a great kip and are ready to face the new dawn. Up and dressed early as we have to get to the garage to have the car exhaust repaired ,I looked for a replacement price to do it myself and it was and still is I am £1000 for a Nissan Juke and worse still I use a company on the net for parts .
They mailed saying that they would mail me when they are available !! It would seem that Covid has had something to do with the extraction of real metals used in the catalytic converter ( The part that cleans the gases before the get into the air for those who don't share my enthusiasm".
Anyway the guy is going to weld the hole up for 50€ it will take all of 10 mins uncluding lifting the car up .It does frighten me the way things are with prices lately .
Have a great day all
Oh England were flattered again ,the French will not fold as Senegal did .
Agree on England Blue. We were incredibly sloppy passing out from the back in the first 25 minutes. However the positive thing is that the only clear cut chances we conceded were a direct result of this sloppy play. Stop trying to play it out from the back and we cut out the chances. We've looked pretty solid otherwise.

But whilst the performances haven't been great, the results haven't been too shabby. Every team we've played has been ranked in the worlds top 20 and we have a running scoreline of 12-2, far better than any other team in the competition. Plus we've not relied heavily on Harry Kane or on set pieces, which has been the case in previous competitions where we've done well. 8 different players have scored and 10 of our goals have come from turning the ball over and breaking,

Our stats are as good as anybodies. In addition to the goals for and against, over the 4 games we have averaged 65% possession, had 22 attempts on target and conceded just 6, and we haven't had a single booking. I think sometimes we are our own biggest critics and I'm no different. But other countries, and I include France in this, would probably prefer to avoid playing us if possible.

But yeah, I too think we will find it very difficult against France and I expect us to go out. I think they have the slightly better starting XI and have the stand out player at the world cup in Mbappe. France too have a good track record in head to head against their peers in competitions, something we certainly don't. But I think our biggest strength lies in our bench, especially in attacking area's, so if we can stay in the game for the first hour I think we have a chance of beating them. Bellingham staying fit is vital. His impact reminds me of Rooney in the 2004 Euro's, which I believe we would have won if he hadn't gotten injured in the quarter final. I just hope it doesn't go to penalties.

Enjoyed the evening out watching the match the other night. As anticipated, I had a few. 5 pints of Hicks Special Draft (or HSD), to be precise. It's the strongest of St Austell's beers at a little over 5% ABV. Had a pretty bad head the next day.

Got the update on the neighbours sister in law too and it isn't that great. The treatment is going to include chemo, followed by surgery, followed by radiotherapy, plus 12 months of hormonal treatment. In total it is expected to last over 12 months, with chemo starting in January, and a small procedure before Xmas. The one positive is that they don't expect to have to remover her breast, but any thoughts of her going back to South Africa to spend some time with her husband is out the door. Which means he'll be coming over here for Christmas, plus it's likely that he may sell up completely and return to Cornwall.

I met Rob's brother in Crete when I was on the cruise and i liked him a lot. It will be good to see more of him, just a shame it couldn't be under different circumstances. There is one other possible knock on impact for me in that the house I'm renting is earmarked for his brother in the longer term. It's been on my mind since I found out that the sister in law potentially had breast cancer so I broached the subject with him on Sunday night. He said the house is mine to rent for as long as I want it, which has given me a bit of peace of mind.

I did offer to put up any of the family who may wish to visit over the Christmas period. I was of course thinking of the daughter, the fit blonde who used to remove her clothes for a living, I suppose i could put up with the blonde adonis boyfriend if I had to.lol

Sorry to hear about your neighbour’s SIL really hope that the treatment is successful. Good that you have some peace of mind on your house and it is yours for as long as you want. As to putting up the daughter -

Sisters funeral on Friday, she was told she had three months to live about fifteen months ago. I’m really not looking forward to it. She was one of lifes wonderful happy people, always cracked a joke, totally irreverent, full of life and always laughing. I’m getting totally pissed off with life at the moment…..
Bloody hell mate sorry to hear that. You're going through it a bit at the moment.

Morning all … well that was a night that was … whilst I live in Spain I’m always going to have a soft spot for the underdog and watching Morocco last night in a Turkish restaurant in Riyadh had ne shouting fir both sides
Great game great atmosphere in the restaurant the only fly in the ointment was the food was crazy slow to arrive …. I think the kitchen brigade myst have. Even glued to a tv in the kitchen
The city of Riyadh were full on behind Morocco and some of the buildings in the financial park where I am working were light up in Morocco colours … I’ll try and list one
