Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Had an LPG delivery the other day, (they always top you up before Christmas), and Stu from the pub dumped a large pile of logs on the front meadow earlier today. They are now all snug and dry and their new house, and I have a curry, red wine, footie , in the very cosy snug later.

All after taking Mum shopping earlier. (2 hours, really?). so she is fully stocked up as well. Showed her how to get the internet on her laptop, (answer, click on "internet" icon), and made Google her home page.

Eldest and GF are now in NZ, via Singapore and Sydney, youngest has a gig tomorrow afternoon with his folk choir, (they are very good), and treat him the exact same as anyone else. (Regular readers may recall Henry is on the autistc spectrum, low level), but he was blessed with a wonderful singing talent, which didnt vanish as his voice broke. And no, its not some savant thing, the musical heritage in our family runs deep. One grannie played piano for the Liverpool Philly, and Mum was a soloist at the Birkenhead Operatic Society.

Phew, quite a day, for me.

The song was actually named after them I believe. Couldn't remember who sang it so just googled it. Alphaville. A German band. Why they would name a song after an obscure Liverpool band who never even released a record I have no idea. lol
Big in Japan also released a song of the same name. The Alphaville song is different.

Although not sure which song @roydo was talking about now. This one is the locals:

I doubt very much it's the Liverpool version.

Didn't realise they released any songs. Maybe an EP. But that's pretty much the sound I remember. The girl was a real screecher.

afternoon everyone,

seems plenty's been happening whilst I've been away.

@BornBlue76 so sorry to hear about your burglary and astonished how phlegmatic you are about the whole thing.

can't get into the World Cup at all although it was fun to see Belgium and Germany go out in the group stages.

looks like my table tennis days are behind me , at least playing wise. Had an injection a few weeks ago and all good for a couple of weeks but then got progressively worse. played this week and could hardly grip the bat at the end. not playing in such pain so will give it a miss for a couple of months and then one last try.

anyway hope y'all been behaving yourselves and looking forward to the return of the prem,
Sucks about the arm man!! My TT buddie here is going through the same thing.. hasn’t played for two months. Really hope it’s not a permanent issue!!

On the phlegmatic but I Can’t say I was too calm when I realised what had happened.. was really angry.. and astonished to be honest that they could do it without us waking up.

We have upped the security now and have a gate guard. It sucks but Botswana is so high in crime it’s like we living in SA again !
