Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well my well planned trip is on hold as the missus has stumbled out walking to keep fit ! And broken her leg right above her ankle so living where we are it is off for a while until she is mobile again .You can just see the break bottom left . So I am head cook and bottle washer until the boss says enough.View attachment 191697
Sorry to hear that mate. Hope its a clean break and heals quickly. What a bummer.

Evening all.

Mum update. Has an appointment on Monday to take a look at her wrist, and a small op to lob a plate in. She is utterly arsed about it!

Today, she had arranged a hair appointment at a salon near her on the Marina.

Me. "Mum, I will drive you there"

Mum. "Dont be daft, Ive bust me wrist, not me foot. Its 5 minutes away"

She is back, safe and sound, and taking her shopping tomorrow.

Cheers mate. Are you back on the booze yet or still suffering?. Actually my first tipple since Saturday. Can't have too much tonight as I'm going for my jabs tomorrow.
Sitting now with a stout. My lad has a match later so it’s literally a post work sup then onto his game. I can actually taste it as well thank goodness so I’m glad I’m not driving!

Plenty of water into you in the morning and a couple of paracetamol before those jabs. I must get my flu one sorted now you have reminded me.

Hi buddy.

G&T Friday and a special treat tonight. Was in the local shop earlier stocking up on my posh sausages and came across a new gin distilled down near the Helford River that had won best gin at recent IWSC awards. Couldn't resist buying a bottle. So with the Rosemullion distillery also a world gold medalist, that's 2 world class gins distilled within a 30 minute walk of where I live. I knew there was a reason I moved here.?

Just for Blue, here's a pic.

Once again jealous Fred .Not G&T weather here now it is more Glög which is a cousin of glüwine that you get in the alps .Served warmed and diluted as it can be 21% which flares your nostrils a bit.

Is that the marina in Portishead? I can recommend the Italian there if you ever fancy treating her..

Tis Fred. She has a flat at the far end of it. And I am reasonably sure I recommended Bollitinos to you! It is a lovely place, and in the evenings, a fantastic vista.

Taking eldest lad and his GF to see her on Sunday before they chip off to NZ in a week or so for 2 years. I cant shake the feeling that it might be the last time Mum sees him, and they adore each other. First Grandchild, a fully engaged Grandma and Grandad relationship, and although I say it myself, Ollie is just a lovely fella. But has the wings that I hoped/knew he would have.

Soppy sod me.

Sorry to hear this blue, please pass on my best wishes to Letitia.

And of course we expect pics of your culinary efforts as you man the house.

No pressure.

Laughed reading this. She sounds amazing mate.

There is a definite fortitude about older generations that I don’t always see in kids. Yeah I know I sound old saying that but the social media generation just aren’t quite as battle hardened for life as we ourselves likely were at that age.
