Ronaldo is the player of the year here and is oft touted as the best in the world. I think Messi gave him a lesson yesterday. Everytime he got the ball he was a threat and I don't think the United defence tackled him once all night, despite some good performances from the back four. It was a breathtaking display from him.

Ronaldo by contrast was easily shackled.
 

i really rate messi, but then ronaldo is also spesh, they both have unbelievably good points about their games, ron mesmerises the opposition with his footwork but messi tends to do it with the ball stuck to his feet. would take either on a free maybe even both.......at a push.

gonna get the youngest a 'messi' shirt (he's 18 months) as i just love the irony of it.
 
Ronaldo is athletic...very fast...good shot on him, can dribble, dipping free-kicks. Best man u player by a mile.

HOWEVER...



Messi is borderline Genius.


Zero comparison between the two.
 

Messi what a player and still 22 isn't it and similar age to Ronaldo.

It's hard to say who is better but they are not far apart in term of ability, but Messi has quicker feet than Ronaldo, but Ronaldo creativity and vision could be better than Messi.

Either way I did love to have them as Everton player, wouldn't you love to have Messi in our midfield?
 
another thing i like about messi is the fact that he's upped sticks at 16-17 gone to another country (ok same lingo i know) but he's still a hell of a long way from home, none of his mates etc and it wouldve been very easy for him to hit the bright lights cos of boredom, he's not done , he's concentrated on his game and got better and better.
he should consider timotei though, there's just no excuse for such lax personal hygene, probably doesn't deoderise either.
 

I think if you took Messi out of Barca and C. Ronaldo out of Real, Barcelona would walk the league (even more so).

But Messi is the better player. I can see why people prefer C. Ronaldo's style of play, but Messi is another level.
 
Messi is simply the best ever of what he does absolute genious. but Ronaldos athleticism and two footed ness just edges it for me but I can see him tailing off a bit when he looses his pace but messi will retire with over 800 career goals imo
 
Ronaldo doesnt care about anyone but himself.

The amount of times his team mates score, and he just turns away and walks back to the centre circle. Hate that.
