I remember the big bus strike in the late 1960s - we still averaged gates of 50.000 car sharing went on for Goodison - which was not the easiest ground to get too .....Its not the 50's anymore and people travel from further afield by car and rail.

Goodison had one of the best if not the best dispersal rate of any Premier League ground.I remember the big bus strike in the late 1960s - we still averaged gates of 50.000 car sharing went on for Goodison - which was not the easiest ground to get too .....
I had to catch 2 buses & a long walk to Goodison - Anfield was easier to get to plus back then they had a massive car park ....Goodison had one of the best if not the best dispersal rate of any Premier League ground.
Goodison had 360° ability to approach and park outside a much smaller Football Match Parking Zone without really conflicting with the city centre. Are there enough car parks around BMD to cater for those of 50 odd thousand who drive there?
How did they get on at Goodison?
We have two big football stadiums here in Melbourne and I wouldn't dream of driving to them.
Tram or train for me, though it's messy getting home after a night game
The same massive car park Evertonians used ? What 2 buses were you getting that ended up with a long walk at Goodison ? Clearly the wrong busI had to catch 2 buses & a long walk to Goodison - Anfield was easier to get to plus back then they had a massive car park ....
Yes with a further walk down - it was outside our old ground .... they took of us ,,, plus it was 50p to mind our carThe same massive car park Evertonians used ?

Sad to say but no way is mrs degsy walking for 30 mins.
What's the deal if we arrive at Lime St?
Yeah I remember it well, you couldn't get a big bus for love nor money.I remember the big bus strike in the late 1960s -
You would hope that some extra trains would be running later when night games occur. Would be really poor from Merseyrail if not.Last train ( as long as not cancelled ) is 10.54pm from Lime St. (40 miles home) Daytime matches not a problem but any midweek night matches would be a worry to get back in time. Would have less than an hour with added extra time minutes. Thinking Sandhills straight into Lime St. Car was easy at Goodison cos parked on Stanley Park. But car now probably a no no.
No internet but we averaged gates of 50, 000 but the football was great .....Yeah I remember it well, you couldn't get a big bus for love nor money.
There were plenty of smaller ones like minibuses still available though.
Are you new to Merseyrail?Would be really poor from Merseyrail if not.
