Yeah, good point. I watched the Bundesliga regularly up until a season or two ago and that was observable. But it's the intensity of the PL that outstrips the Bundesliga. Rohl looks like he could cope with that. Looks aggressive and fairly quick.
As leagues go, the difference is money. The Germans refuse to allow foreign money to take over. As a result, they pay less in wages and so attract a lower-quality foreigner, on average, whilst losing many of their highest-quality local players (Havertz, Wirtz, Ter Stegen). Of course, they are more open to young high-quality players and often get them before the rich English clubs. De Bruyne was German footballer of the Year at Wolfsburg (after Chelsea chucked him out and before City came sniffing) and Haaland got his big break at Dortmund. Jude Bellingham is another classic example.

It's a delicate balance - being competitive, high-quality, and affordable - but the Bundesliga does it better than anyone. Best fan culture of all the major leagues too.

I saw Ped from that Toffeetv going on about how physically weak the Bundesliga is in comparison to the Premier League? Is there there really that much difference in the physicality between the two leagues?

There are very few leagues that can match the physicality of the PL. The Bundesliga teams tend to struggle in Europe apart from Dortmund and Bayern. However as we’ve seen countless times in international tournaments, technical ability overcomes physicality in most cases.

….i’ve got a press cutting upstairs from the German press, including a picture of myself and Tommy Wheeldon (who later signed for Everton). No idea what it says but I’m sure I still have it. I think one of the West German internationals from the ‘66 World Cup Final might have played that night (Overath or Webber but again I might have that wrong).

Tommy never came through at Everton but had a decent career in lower leagues, I think mainly at Torquay before seeing his career out in Canada. Canadian Toffees will know him and his two sons well, I think one is a top flight manager/coach over there and they’re all massive Evertonians.
Google can be a wonderful thing sometimes, Tommy Wheeldon is apparently on both these pictures somewhere, big question is is our very own @Eggs?

Should have been given the number 3, then when he came off the bench it could have been to the tune of '3 is the magic number' by De La Soul.
I feel obligated to point out that the original "3 is the magic number" predates the De La Soul version by 16 years.

Now back on topic: please stop with the terrible puns! They've all been done already!

"

Merlin's taking big strides after his injury troubles. He's got pace, great movement. He can be a real difference-maker, and he completely identifies with the club." - Former Freiburg head coach Christian Streich

"He fought his way into [Freiburg's] team. That's not easy. He focused on defensive work and also came into his own offensively. He's very quick and determined. He's very dangerous." - Germany U21 head coach Antonio Di Salvo

"Merlin's the complete midfielder. He can do it defensively and offensively." - Röhl's former coach at Ingolstadt, Tomas Oral"
Sounds like yaya toure to me
