2025/26 Merlin Röhl

Rule of thumb: about a month for a hernia op/recovery/training. He should be good to go over the Christmas period with 20 minutes or half an hour here and there.

Some players recover a lot quicker. Depends on the individual, I suppose.
Whose rule of thumb is that Dr Dave? If Moyes played him now and he broke down again, you be using it as a stick to beat Moyes with.

Googling it and most places seem to suggest 6-12 week recovery from a hernia op even for professional footballers

There are different types of hernia injuries. Inguinal hernia is most common and takes 4-5 weeks for full recovery.

That's or a normal person who has no dedicated medical follow up with physio experts and all their resources, btw.

What type of hernia injury did he have? As it seems more likely to be a sports hernia. Which is longer recovery.

I'll be very surprised if Moyes in his press conference tomorrow doesn't say he may be included in the match day squad for Arsenal or is making progress and could be in contention for the upcoming Christmas games.

…..he said something along the lines of ‘he was on the grass and much further on than Branthwaite’ ahead of the Chelsea game, so you’d think he wouldn’t be too far off being involved.

Yep.

That's my reading too mate.

Defo under consideration for the Christmas games and almost certainly will be in the match day squad and probably team for that glut of home games just into the new year.

Decided to go back in this thread, which i never do. After trying to get past the puns, you start to see the increasing flow of posts regarding a first team, future hero, and just massive influction of what a signing we've got after a few minutes cameo.

Now it's picked up quite a rapid pace of an awful signing, waste of money on a crocked player. What were we doing when scouting this lad..

This is Everton fans for you.
