Media Soundbites out.

So much of the media coverage of the game these days is just pointless statements of opinion. With so many outlets for Everton "news" now even just within the club, I guess they have to fill it with something. Think back to the old days when the club basically put out a programme and the odd interview/discussion with a reporter. Its just gone too far now. Too much 'content' being created. Its much easier to consume it when we're doing well too right?

Or waiting all day to read the back of the Echo.

From what I've read, most of the newspaper quotes seem to be the same ones that show up on the Everton official website or EvertonTV. It seems the media just gets its quotes from what the club provides. So it's not like the players are seeking out interviews. It's kind of hard for the club captain to refuse to talk to the club's website.

I'm sure the club is delighted that its determining what articles get picked up and quoted verbatim out there too.
