Our managerial recruitment 'strategy' is absolutely mad isn't it post Roberto?

Koeman- supposed structured disciplinarian / arsehole

Allardyce - fireman Sam, ace at grinding teams to, um, 8th

Silva - bright young thing. Plays attacking zesty football. Full of innovation. Potential. Not.

Carlo - the proven winner. Would be popular with the fans. Tactical innovator. Would get us playing and winning. Hoof. Rat.

Benitez - oh sweet Jesus. Proven winner (15 years ago). Unpopular with the fans. Hoof. Rat. Fat. Tapas?

Save us.
Haha people though that?

for all the stuff you post that gives me a good laugh (in current affairs usually), this bit is irrefutably correct.
I dont see what's wrong with it, tbh.

Walter Smith served up champagne football compared to what we saw after Christmas from Carlo (derby aside).

Bobby had 3 years. Stick was well earned
Ancelotti couldn't have shown Moyes' Dad's Army how to play football in 2 summer months and then get them to 72 points.

Ancelotti must still be shaking his head wondering how anyone got 72 points at this club.

He did well piggy backing on 10 years of work that was put in. The last 2 seasons of him putting his own "stamp" on things proved the measure of the man.

Martinez was 10 x the manager Ancelotti was here. 59 points playing the worst football since Walter Smith, from a team that cost half a billion to assemble.
No he wasn't. He conceded 4. In Anfield. By playing the back line on the center of the pitch. Absolute discrace. Those mistakes happen to football manager noobs who play CH. L with Ferencvaros and decide to play a high line against Barcelona. Then they quit and load it again. But lil' Bobby didn't have that option.

We got beat by them 5-2 under Ancelotti.

He inherited a team that were too afraid to keep the ball.

Moyes left him nothing.

That was Marco Silva. Don't give me that c-rap about Liverpool reserves, at least the Italian guy did actually win a Derby compared to those losers silva, and Bobby. And don't get me wrong I liked Bobby's football but he lost me, then he lost everyone, he lost the dressing rooms and then lost his job. Fair enough.

A great day, but a unique game that was lightning in a bottle for me.
