McFadden

I seen the highlights on sportscene last night. He took it well but then again he always looks a better player at imternational level than club level which is unusual as it is normally the other way around with players.

I think he gets a freer role with Scotland and with it come more respect. In the prematch summary Mcleish said that Faddy was a shy lad, needed an arm round his shoulder, he doesn't believe how good he actually is.........that summary could explain a lot about Faddy but to my surprise he's playing well this year(y)

I feel like he is the best striker we have. He can attack the net without having to look at it, he attacks the corners of the net and can create space for himself.

Great to see that action. Certainly seems to be his season to date, playing far better than he has done for a while and scoring.

Its my understanding that he is such a hero north of the border either Rangers or Celtic must come in for him, neither can afford him though! In any case, remember Michael Ball, Rangers don't pay their bills!b)

Ok McFadden has got a few goals this season- but for us what else does he bring?! Hes not particularly good in the air, his dribbling only works about 1% of the time, he isnt the quickest and he is pretty light weight.

He has scored some beauties this season but is he top premiership class??? For me the jury is still out as it has been for the past three seasons!

I said earlier in this thread that he is playing well 'to my surprise'. At present he is about the only striker we have that can find the net with any regularity and he is doing it at all levels, light weight or not. The lad has had a huge amount of criticism since he arrived here, if Mcleish is right then we may be seeing the player that made everyone take notice when we signed him from Motherwell. At present he'd be hard pushed to be scoring better goals and I hope it continues(y)

Dont get me wrong I would love to see Mcfadden being a huge hit with us- I just have massive doubts.

At the moment though, he is uber confident and that is why he tries those further shots and scores more goals. AJ when he regains all of his confidence will be like that again, and also when vaughan comes back hopefully he will also be like that. But for now, Faddy is the best striker we have.

Hands up who knew we'd be talking about McFadden being our best striker this time last season .

I don't rate faddy at all. the Goal against France was a fluke, a better keeper would've knocked that around the post or over the crossbar, fact. Alright he's scored a couple of flukely goals lately I agree with Micknick when he said whatelse does he bring to the team....Absolutely nothing and a lot of cheek towards the match officials. We all know how that turns out.

I'd get rid of him in January with the whole world convinced he's a world beater.

I've always felt that he brings a certain intangible to the field where by 'stuff happens' around him. Nothing you can hang your hat on but in the end a consistent pattern of opportunitoes generated.
