Mcfadden - still without a club

That peach against Charlton? I remember seeing him score a cracker against Fulham too, in the same game where Beattie chipped the goalkeeper who was on his line. In hindsight Tony Warner probably made them look better than they were, utter gash goalkeeper.

Yeah the Charlton one, I was right behind the Park End goal back then. I've thought about it and cant think of a better individual goal.
Ha yeah I remember that Fulham game, that's what I stupidly expected from Beattie. When he signed I said to my mate that not only had we signed a great goalscorer, we had signed a scorer of great goals. Lovely soundbite, pity he was garbage.
The main thing I remember that Fulham game for though is the Fulham player Simon Elliott. He ran like the tin man and was hilariously awful, the worst player I have ever seen at Goodison.

The thing I remember most from that game (great one to have caught live), was that both me dad n grandad put a bet on 3-1, and when Collins John scored late on and we all celebrated, everyone must've thought we were serious headcases.

I would gladly take James back. We need a winger/striker cover to allow our youngsters like Baxter, Forshaw, McAleny or maybe possibly Gueye as well to go on a loan..

McFadden plays in positions where we already have cover. Better cover. And young hungry players.

He wasnt good enough the first time around and now we have moved on. Signing him again would be mad.

I wouldn't want him, let some of the other players have a chance, like Velios, Stracqulaursi, Gueye and Drenthe.
I seem to remember when he was with us he scored some great goals, but he was never exactly a fans favorite, he seemed to struggle to find his best position. He didnt score enough to play up front and was often pushed out to the wing where he seemed to drift in and out of games

The Scottish Bily really.

Yeah really, if we could have sold billy last window and got McFly in, would have been a nice bit of business and a few million to the bank without affecting the squad that much.

Really?
I'm not sure a crocked Jimmy McFadden is really going to revolutionise our options. Better to give some of the youngsters a run. At least they'd have some resale value.
Baxter, Stracquilarsi and Vellios all need some game time so give them a run.
