).He's already starting to sound like a "personality". I'm glad he can, at least in his own view, play some role in distribution and setting up play. I think that that is one thing we could do with at the moment. I can't see a problem with him combining a defensive and a more attack minded role, so long as Moyes instructs him in no uncertain terms where his main duties will lie (and he will, I've no doubt of that).
Has anyone actually seen this guy play?
Anyone know how you pronounce his name?

Mmmm...beeeer

Thats the modern day defensive midfielder really, can do all the defensive duties and has the ability to pick a pass and start attacks.
Evertonians think we need a new Carsley, we don't, we need an upgrade with more to his game. That's how we'll move to the next level, with Carsley that was never possible sadly.
You make a lot of sense, TB. I actually thought that Manny could have played the role you describe. Whereas Carsley was excellent at the simple stuff, Manny was craftier at ball-playing, and in picking out individuals with good position. Whether Manny could have adapted to do the stuff Carsley did is debatable, although I think he probably could have done so to a similar standard.
