MATCH THREAD: France Vs. England - Euro 2012 Group D - 5PM KO

Everton pre January is the best description I've seen so far. They were alright, just lacking a bit of flair and a finish.

Was watching some Euro 96 highlights the other day, they're badly missing a McManaman (dare I say it another kopite but a good player and an Evertonian!)

I know we keep saying Everton pre January but we were poor up until march.

Jan Results
Jan 1 Win 1-0 west brom. (Away) If you remember this game it was the live match and was an awful game.
Jan 4 loss 1-0 Bolton (Home) probably the worst performance i have ever witnessed from an everton side.
Jan 7 win 2-0 Tamworth (Home) got outplayed for long periods of the game and got a lucky penalty at the end.
Jan 11 Loss 2-0 spurs (away) got battered
Jan 14 draw 1-1 Aston villa (away) a very poor Aston villa side.
Jan 21 draw 1-1 Blackburn (home) we got outplayed in this game and made blackburn look like a champions league team.
Jan 27 Win 2-1 Fulham fa cup (home) we played quite well in this one after going 1-0 down.
Jan 31 win 1-0 Man city (home) did well to contain city and get a goal, rode our luck at times but did well to contain. think city had over 70% possession.

Feb was a mixed bag. good win against chelsea terrible against wigan and QPR.

I was firmly on the pro-England side (and still am) but to be honest I surprised myself with my reactions to the game: I didn't cheer when Lescott scored and didn't really enjoy watching them. I won't be supporting other teams or making snide anti-England comments but something is off here. Just not Everton I guess. It's a shame because I always typically enjoyed the summer tourneys. ::sigh::

I agree though mate, good result - Capello would of been pillared for that - but I think it was a very good result nonetheless. You'l easily get through the group

I'm still not confident. No doubt we'll struggle to 2 draws against Sweden and Ukraine.
