Sould you preferred us to have been beaten?
Obviously not. I expect us to be cruising them by at least 2 or 3 goals within the 90 with that team out, which is what we should be doing.

We've just made things very difficult for ourselves yet again. This start of the season that we've made just cannot be doing the confidence of the players any good and it's very concerning...

Poor finishing was obviously our main downfall tonight, we created plenty of goalscoring chances and wasted far too many. I think people are over-reacting to Kone's performance, he's not played 90 minutes for us before (IIRC), didn't have the same pre-season as everyone else due to his fasting so he won't be match sharp, which is important for goal scoring. He contributed to the build up play and there will be improvement.

Deufelululu was erratic, some flashes of quality, some running int defenders and giving the ball away too cheaply.

Was impressed with Stones, looks very comfortable on the ball and doesn't seem to get caught out of position often (ignoring their goal which I think Robles should have come out to clear anyway).

Overall, another frustrating night, but like I said we created plenty of opportunities, we just need to stick more away.

In 120 minutes of football at home, with all of the possession/passing we had, we managed just 2 goals against League One Stevenage Borough...

That is just unacceptable to me personally like.

I only watched it from 60 mins onwards, so I missed two of the goals and half of the game. But it seemed to me that it was all just going to pieces when we got in and around the box. Fair enough, they were defending like beavers (as Chris Kamara would say) but we badly needed something special to break them down. we had 31 attempts, but only 8 on target.

Fellini coming on changed things, their defenders were on edge and he had an impact straight away, winning a corner and then going close with a header from the same corner.

We got a lucky break with the winning goal, they failed to clear it and it fell kindly to Fellini who stuck it away.

These games are rarely as easy as they should be, there is always a potential for an upset (as we all know too well), the important thing is to win

First things first, relieved to get through as I had a bad feeling that was gonna go to pens. Because my mood isn't one of total rage because we won I am going to be kind and say Kone just isn't match fit and give him time and forget about a couple of sitters he missed. The 2 little glimmers of light was Barkley with another solid performance and little glimmers of what Delafeou can offer. Naismith wasn't as bad as people have made out, showed for the ball and tried a few things. Well played Naisy u get a 6 out of 10 for effort. Not too sure what Heitinga did wrong though I know he didn't do anything right of note. Osman was meh, Oviedo was meh. In fact they were all a bit **** truth be told apart from Ross and Barca Boy but we won so my fumage is locked away for another day.

thought naismith did alright, give the lid a chance, i cant recall any big feckups by him. Osman was poor, and i like the lid but he needs a trial separation from the first team. A short trial and long separation.
Kone obviously borrowed Jelavic's boots, he was a bit gash.
It just shows that with a decent striker that can finish, we'd be boss. We will miss the big man and Baines big style if they are allowed to go.

Couldn't agree with you more mate.

It was woeful but we still won, my worry is we should be beating teams easily when you've had 31 shots.
