MATCH OFFICIAL EVERTON VS SPURS

Teams have been packing the midfield against us (parking the bus) which is of course sensible on their part. I read this morning that we have a narrow pitch (i though they were all standardised recently?) & our wingers play on the opposite wings (ie, left footer on the right & vice versa) so they have cut in-field, further congesting the middle of the park.

We are creating a lot of half-chances & have virtually dominated possesion in every match but for some reason we are just not putting the ball away - at least in the League. We have scored plenty in the Europa/COC so far.

Possesion football & no clear cut chances is quite tedious to be honest.

Friend simply doesn't understand the game & referee's like a man who's never kicked a ball. He's one of the worst around, but can be a homer, so here's hoping.

Every week I open this thread and fume, think to myself "why do we always get the crap refs", but I think I have the answer: They're all crap. I just had a look at the list of current premier league referees and the only ones I'd be reasonably happy with being appointed were Mark Halsey, Michael Oliver and Howard Webb. Webb seems to get a lot of stick but I think for the most part he's been fair to us and is a hell of a lot better than the others. Lee Mason being my personal least-favourite of the bunch. (Clattenburg notwithstanding)

Ref got the result he wanted - boring draw - kept both teams exactly where the FA wants them - out of the top 4.
