Can you think of a player who has been released by Everton in recent years who has gone on to prove them wrong?

Mustafi looking the most likely to do so but no-one else would have a sniff of our first team.

Callum McManaman. He knocked us out of the FA Cup ffs.

Why did Moyes sign 1 million young goalkeepers?

The only one who's made it is Ruddy, and we let him go for nothing didn't we?

Wish we'd kept him

Saw him play quite a few youth matches and he seemed pretty good

Would have rather we persisted with him than spending money on bringing another keeper in a la Robles

Nothing against Robles of course. But I would have rather Springthorpe got the job as Howards back up

Robles is an under 21 international with a lot of promise and games under his belt. Mason Springthorpe is neither. He wasn't very good.

Robles was gash against Arsenal but I still have faith in him. He was excellent in Wigan's cup run. It would be madness to have Springthorpe as Howard's backup rather than Robles.

Just the fact he's an international doesn't automatically make him good
The fact he has a club and hasn't been released by anyone, unlike Mason.. does.

I know you love youth players and stuff mate, so do i. But sometimes they just aren't good enough for us.
Mason is one of them.

I'd honestly rather have Mucha back than Threepwood or Robles.

Think Robles was just a cheap panic buy last year. Howard was away and we needed a keeper for pre season. Robles had done ok for Wigan so we gave him a chance. Personally I don't rate him and I think we should have looked to signing a younger player with more potential as a future Howard replacement
