2023/24 Mason Holgate

Seems we can't agree with Southampton over the percentage of wage they pay
No surprise if he's on £60k-odd a week. Utterly unreal salary that he's never once justified. Did somebody at the club think just because he also came him Barnsley he's going to be the next John Stones? Expect no other club to even offer to pay 50%. Probably 30% with us topping up the rest for the next two years. He's not going to drop his wages either way so either we get a nominal fee and are paying him for the next two years, or he's loaned and we're paying most of his wage.

Fed up of subsidising wages for other clubs...we did it a lot last seasons and it seems that the trend is continuing. Saints has a lot of money with all the players sold, surely they can pay for his 60k a week.

Yes, it gets old real quick.

Trouble is he's not worth 60k/pw, and probably never will be. So, the Saints are right to not want to pay the full amount.

It feels like the mess of Everton's poor recruitment and crazy salaries is never ending.
