Never been a fan of him but credit where it is due, he showed he can play. Maybe it is time for him to be more consistent.

Can't fault his defensive work, with Godfrey out he'll have to play in a back 3 as he's the only one with recovery pace .

That said, Lampard really needs to have a word about his long passing. He attempts so many with a very poor return.

…I don’t think he has recovery pace, he’s another who is out of the game when the opposition go past.

He gets caught the wrong side of the ball which often alleviates him of blame because he’s not in the defensive picture. Very rash giving needless free-kicks in dangerous areas. I actually think he’s best coming on or playing the odd game but when he gets a run in the side he becomes a genuine liability.

He’s very ordinary, a defender forwards will relish playing against. I’d always play Keane ahead of him in a back four but in the system Lampard plays we’re going to have to make do. Perhaps if Coady comes in, Coleman could play in the three meaning Patterson keeps his place.

Faultless in defence but his passing out was poor, not one forward pass went to an Everton player

In the two games this season, he's done really well.

I think it helps having Tarks and Coady with him, but he's done well in his own right, also passed really well today.
