I could see an argument along the lines of “charges were dropped, he wasn’t convicted, they are back together so he should be allowed to stay at the club” - I personally wouldn’t find it convincing but in the strictest interpretation of laws I can see it being made.
However when you follow that up with sending abusive messages/comments to others (especially women) who disagree….well you are really just showing your true colors and that abuse doesn’t actually matter at all to you.

She didn't want anything to do with it, even though the CPS can still charge you when it's domestic even if the woman doesn't want charges made a trial is a lot harder because any evidence is refutable, if she says the recording was just them joking and that she'd slipped and cut her lip the evidence is worthless and he can't be found guilty. This despite everyone knowing full well that he's guilty. It's a disgrace but it's her choice.

Shocking really. Would be interesting to know how often they go to court without victim cooperation. Seems a strange choice of action they've taken, seeing as it was exactly instances like this that the law change about 20 years ago now, was intended to tackle.

They were bringing him back until Adam Crafton at the Athletic got onto to it then wrote a good article. The backlash to it forced them to u turn. They had the PR ready to go.
