Roberto got my hopes up last year with Gerard. He set the bar high netting him and his subsequent comments regarding top clubs wanting everton to take their youngsters on loan. So what happened this season then? Either we didn't get our targets, or Roberto.was being a bit economical with the truth. To sign Barry on a 3 year contract at the time seemed absurd, unfortunately we have been proved right. We even have a better young midfielder on our books (Besic) but for some reason Barry gets the nod over him each time. Our transfer business is just another frustration to add to this wretched season.
Besic has started every game for the last couple of months.

Ok fair point, even though it is Besic who is subbed in games instead of Barry when Roberto wants to change things. I just hope that now McCarthy is fit, Besic and him can nail down the two defensive midfielder positions. But I have my doubts.

Those who have been criticizing Martinez for

-Playing Barkley and Naismith at the same time

-Not playing two true wingers

-Not dropping Barry

-Not dropping Lukaku

Please speak up, should Martinez be criticized for making these same decisions once again today?

Depends if he does the same against Leicester and we lose.

It's not worked more times than it has worked mate.

Obviously.

Those three were me, but I have been very much Martinez IN. Criticizing him and wanting him to stay aren't mutually exclusive.

The thing is, if you have a team coming on to you then it makes matters a lot better. We've had to face two solid blocks of 4 in the PL and it's looked pretty bad.
