Martinez OUT. There i said it. (end of the season of course).

What has gone wrong ?

I think this thread has been made more out of concern because i have tried to see the bigger picture, my thread is based on two seasons not just this latest decent run, i could be fickle and have said martinez should go - up to the west ham game at home in the cup, then since that little run of clean sheets been saying he is great. Then want him out again if he loses to Leicester. Im not like that, i took into account the joys of arsenal, united and liverpool last year coupled with southampton away (which was the negative) then factored in this season as a whole, like is said i dont mean to sound like a kopite and just demand changes when things arent going well - i want martinez to stay and win us something. Im trying to find the right balance between knee jerking and blindly in love.
 

I'm uncertain if I think Martinez is totally up to the job, but that's mainly due to lack of faith in transfers.

Sure, he signed Lukaku and McCarthy, but McGeady, Alcaraz and Kone? They're just not the standard we should be looking at.

What worries me then is that I can see this summer being huge for change, and if he cocks it up we can't just blindly spend our way out of trouble like Liverpool can. We can't be stuck with players who aren't good enough on long contracts who have no resale value.

If you think that it's likely we'll see the end of Howard, Distin, Alcaraz, Pienaar, Osman, Mirallas and probably Gibson too, we've got a lot of spaces to fill and probably not enough money to do so. If he spends fairly big and brings in mostly average/poor players we will take a serious step back as a club I'm afraid.

Get it right however and we could be flying next year, assuming Bobby decides that a pre season might be beneficial.
 
Everyone has an opinion hence why there's so many debates day in day out. I believe we will only get worst under Martinez until it becomes unbearable for him to manage the club and he has to go. Of course I hope I am proved wrong.

You weighed up last season's record PL effort and this season when we lie 12th and came to the unavoidable conclusion that Martinez should leave at the end of the season?

..and Besic and Robles and no one was complaining about Barry's first season, and he brought in Deulofeu.

Sounds like more hits than misses to me like.

Agreed. He has more money to spend than any Manager in our history. His transfer dealings will make or break him. As of now I am not convinced by him in this department. Interesting times...

Kone aside his poor signings have been his loans/frees

Yeah agreed. His frees and loans have been more stop gap signings. I don't think he sees Alcaraz, for example, as a player to depend on for the next couple of years. Same goes with McGeady. He needed cover and needed it cheap. They will be replaced when the money is available.
