I think we all did, but there just seemed to be a phase were distin and eto'o in particular had enough of the style of play. I feel Mirallas may be next, also when you look at the actions of some of our players such as Baines, Naismith, barkley and coleman they all look at eachother in frustration when we choose to pass 3,4,5,6, times more instead of a inscisive through ball for example.
I think they look at each other in frustration when they give the ball away failing to make a simple 5 yard pass.

It'd be far easier for people tormented with having Martinez in charge (you remember him, the feller who tore up Everton's PL points record at the first time of asking) to simply accept that we have a manager on a long contract and who's as safe as houses.

It's painful reading this stuff now. First it's 'sack him now, he has to go'. Now it's 'let's part company with him in the summer'.

Tilting at windmills. There is no dragon to be slain. All the vast majority see (including the board) is a manager in his second season struggling to get a team to perform to anything like the level of last season.

We're 12th with the biggest load of horse droppings below us who couldn't buy their way out of the drop zone; apart from Arsenal away early next month every fixture looks like it'll bear points for us; we're in all likelihood going to finish on about 50 points slap bang in the middle of the table or maybe just top half.

It's just a meh season. No need for all the dramatic ultimatums...that hasn't been a need for it all season, and there certainly is no need for it now.
I thought you where the negative one on this forum ;)

So why would Andy Gray be such a bad shout? I've seen fans mention Joe Royle or Duncan Ferguson and to my mind Andy Gray has more to offer than either of them.

Yeah Aitor Karanka was an assistant to Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and was highly thought of there. So yes I have heard of him beyond 12 months ago.

And yes I'm serious about Andy Gray. Not sure why the hatred towards him? His enthusiasm could be what this club needs.

They're not choices if they don't actually want the job.

There's a reason why I think Barkley played on the wing for so long.

He would have been dropped otherwise and he's still better than McGeady. With his most recent performances playing in the centre can you really blame the manager.

Ross isn't right. He hasn't been right all season since he came back from injury. I don't know if it's a fitness issue, a mental issue or simply a hangover from too much too soon but it is what it is.

Agree jetlag as such doesn't seem to have had much effect but each of our away Europa games was followed by an away league game three days later meaning travelling time ate into the small amount of preperation time we had. Also all the Europa games probably require quite a lot more preperation from both the players and manager than your regular league game due to a lack of familiarity of the opponents skills/tactics.

The only game that we really suffered for it imo was Spurs away - we had used up so much mental and physical energy at Wolfsburg just don't think we had much reserves when we fell behind to a reinvigorated Tottenham. Possibly true of the first Wolfsburg game as well and our subsequent loss to Palace.

But we want to play in Europe so we need to get used to it.
Shouldn't think that's going to be necessary for a good while shortly.

A good question Roy, I had. Look at this another way had anyone heard of Martinez before he knocked us out the FA Cup and steered Wigan to relegation.

Fair enough. Er, Martinez had managed in the PL for quite a few seasons.

And Andy Gray is, IMO, a bigoted, lazy, dinosaur of a man. With zero experience of managing anyone.
