How dare you blame Cheese on toast.
Agree jetlag as such doesn't seem to have had much effect but each of our away Europa games was followed by an away league game three days later meaning travelling time ate into the small amount of preperation time we had. Also all the Europa games probably require quite a lot more preperation from both the players and manager than your regular league game due to a lack of familiarity of the opponents skills/tactics.
The only game that we really suffered for it imo was Spurs away - we had used up so much mental and physical energy at Wolfsburg just don't think we had much reserves when we fell behind to a reinvigorated Tottenham. Possibly true of the first Wolfsburg game as well and our subsequent loss to Palace.
But we want to play in Europe so we need to get used to it.

I remain unconvinced that RM is the manager for us over the next few seasons. Okay he had a terrific first season but I take the view that quite a bit of this was a legacy from our EX never mind what DaveK says. Then this season there is no doubt a change of style took place very different to the previous season which has not worked well.Some have commented that the play of Jags and Distin was poor, if you could see why not Rm and why did he persist in selecting players not performing? Why not give Browning at least one game instead of Distin? We were not performing for many games why could RM not see this and change but insisted he was not for changing and add to that his statement that he did not see defence as important in winning things. How many times have fans on here questioned the selection and positioning of players like Naismith and Barkley yet RM continued playing them and putting Barkley on the wing, for me it is this that has created havoc with his confidence. Look at the subbing in games, I tire of the times when Besic was subbed and Barry left on the usual out cry on here was WTF! Look at the rubbish of picking Hibbert to play and not Garbutt.
We can't score goals for toffee, why? It is because of the tactics of RM, 28mill striker used on the wings, I ask you how can he score out there? Rom has been badly used by RM.

we've been bumbling along all season, nothing has changed in that sense. he's struggling like. I think we'll be able to sense over the summer if things are getting back on track or not, If they're not and we get off to a bad start next season I think he'll be gone. Personally I think if we keep bumbling along without any kind of form between now and next november he should leave but lets concentrate on this season for now.

All a question of how much are we prepared to pay to get the right chap. Said it before the chap over at Middlesborough looks to have his head screwed on.
Starting to think it might be a good option to look for a new Manager at the end of the season.
Football is a results driven business, its down to the manager to get these results, so far hes failing in that aspect, yes the performances have improved recently, defensively at least, but to get to this point hes failed in pretty much every single aspect of his job.
Hes lying to an entire fanbase, week after week, treating us like morons, telling us that we played well and were unlucky, despite us seeing the opposite. Hes failed to motivate the players to perform and is persisting with formations and tactics that would struggle to win games in the Blue Square Premiership. He continues to pick players that arent even good enough for Stoke, whilst complaining about injuries to players that would struggle to make an impact in the MLS.
He has a few months to show that he can drag us out of this terrible run of form, a run of form that can no longer be considered a dip, dips dont last entire seasons.
So, "Bobby brown shoes", its time to put up or koff up, talk is cheap, just like your aftershave.

It'd be far easier for people tormented with having Martinez in charge (you remember him, the feller who tore up Everton's PL points record at the first time of asking) to simply accept that we have a manager on a long contract and who's as safe as houses.
It's painful reading this stuff now. First it's 'sack him now, he has to go'. Now it's 'let's part company with him in the summer'.
Tilting at windmills. There is no dragon to be slain. All the vast majority see (including the board) is a manager in his second season struggling to get a team to perform to anything like the level of last season.
We're 12th with the biggest load of horse droppings below us who couldn't buy their way out of the drop zone; apart from Arsenal away early next month every fixture looks like it'll bear points for us; we're in all likelihood going to finish on about 50 points slap bang in the middle of the table or maybe just top half.
It's just a meh season. No need for all the dramatic ultimatums...that hasn't been a need for it all season, and there certainly is no need for it now.
