Your comment on the problem doesn´t really actually mean anything IMO. Whats their natural game? What are these directions coming from Martinez? "play slow" ? Why did they play okay last season with what would probably be very similar instructions?

Sorry but your "analysis" here reads like insight from an article in The Sun or something. I don´t mean to put the boot in, I am pointing out why your OP would be written off as kneejerk by some because its seems much of what you say is not thought through with balance, as much as you try to make it sound like that. The problems are manifold......and not as simplistic as you seem to be saying, and certainly not all the managers fault.

Your comment on other fans is as OTT as some of the negative replies to posts like yours that you are complaining about on here.

Ross Barkley is a player who likes to run infact no - glide past defenders, right now all he does is pass short, coleman and baines used to be raiding fullbacks, now they have to be more balanced because martinez refuses to play two wide men, therfore putting more pressure on the fullbacks in question, i would be interested to see how many shots from 20-25 yards have been attempted this season by Everton, we always try passing the ball in the net, again a philosophy martinez goes on about in every interview. Of course i dont think the solution is a easy one, i think martinez could do ways of improving our play - mixing it up a little if you like.

@Paul Bernard . I understand your concerns, I'm sure we're all peeved with how this season has panned out. In fact, if I had bumped into Martinez walking out of the KC Stadium on new years day, I would have hung him from the humber bridge with the free scarf they gave us. However, he needs the summer to sort the deadwood of this squad out, he deserves that. The fact that we've changed our style a bit to shore things up shows he's open to change, as he must be to become a better manager. Keep the faith brother, next Christmas is the time to judge him.

I tried to forget about that day. It was so long i managed to get a hangover the same day on my way back from the KC lol

Take that 4 game run of defeats out which admittedly was a nightmare and we had only lost 6 games in our opening 22 games (8 draws, 8 wins)

We now have 1 defeat in 5 after that run after playing City/Liverpool and Chelsea

There's something lacking this season, I don't think anyone would deny that, I just think its not as bad as some are making out, Each to there own like

The style of play doesn´t matter if the players can´t pass 5 yards to each other or dribble or control the ball though, does it? Even if it may be partly caused by tactics. Althoughly personally I would think it completely ridiculous if our players have gotten this bad just because of different instructions. It shouldnt be affecting a professional footballer to the level he continually loses the ball. More likely for me is the knock on effect of a poor start, terrible errors causing us to drop points and then us failing to pick up any momentum at all and get some confidence back...quite often because of more individual errors in games where we might have gotten something. And yes, add new instructions to this (if it was as you suggest) and it may not help.

This a huuuge part of the problem neglected in a post suggesting we sack our manager.

Factor in these games can thick and fast over the Christmas period and the injuries we had and it really wasn't as bad as people were claiming at the time. You just needed a level head to see it.

Typical thread after huge dissapointment. People just cant take it to the chin.

Instead of just assuming its on the back of the Chelsea defeat, at least skim read the post, its not a knee jerk reaction, i was alluding to last season and this, there has been so many times the players and fans have been crying out for the manager to make changes, last season he had the guts this season i feel he hasnt. People are so quick to credit bobby with last season yet so reluctant to place any blame on his shoulders this year.

Even relegation wouldnt change peoples opinion on him being a saint.

That 4 game run of defeats ruined the confidence of both fans and players

Awful sequence of results that has clouded peoples judgement IMO, Look at the results before and after and its not that bad, We are just lacking some cutting edge, Is that really a shock though given the options we have

If we are in the bottom half after ten games next season, then I think it would be time for him to go.

I was about to ask that question, but judging by the replies so far, bobby is bulletproof. It is injuries, bad luck, christmas period, backroom staff and sammy Eto'o all to blame.

There is a reason we are fans and he's a manager of a Premier league football club though

Didn't he have last summer to 'sort the deadwood out'? Not only did he not sort it out, he secured their positions within the club!

Either short term or long term I have no faith in the guy. Even with injuries, he's had enough time to have resurrected the league form. he's been a total failure. When was the last time our manager won just 2 out of 16 and stayed in post?

Martinez shoulders a lot of the blame but so should the players

Like you said they tore up trees last season and now they look devoid of ideas and unable to pass the ball, Martinez can not be blamed for that
