The only things keeping him in a job are the obvious lack of a quality replacement and Kenwright's tightness but even that will change if we lose to Newcastle and QPR and this continues.

The best case scenario is that we somehow scrape out of the drop and then sack Martinez replacing him with someone like DeBoer.

Hopefully that might persuade those players who want away to stay.

I honestly think no one could do worse. How could they?

I used to think that Martinez spoke well when at Wigan.

But now hearing his pressers every week or twice a week is making me nauseous with his relentless , ridiculous and unmerited optimism.

If it is having that effect on me what the hell do the players think hearing that drivel day in day out.

Personally I think you're a total disgrace in the way you've consistently attempted to polarise the debate around Maritnez, based solely around your own ego driven opinion on the bloke that you've been protecting since you nailed your colours to the Martinez mast. Your defence of the man isn't about the club or even the manager, it's about your ego and your inability to accept ever being wrong.

Make no mistake, if and when we get through the next few games and find ourselves in this position (14th with a big gap of 6 points in hand) then Martinez will not be going anywhere.

Kenwright stood by Moyes when he took us to 17th, he will easily do the same with a manager who gave us the record points total of last season and has us at 14th.

You can scream and stamp your feet like the child you are all you want, but that ^^^ is the unalloyed truth of the matter.

Get rid with a good menager , one who would use what he has ,just normal formaton with players on there natural positions would be positive shock for players. I really think that players don't believe on what hes doing. What bothers me that teams like Stoke can dominate us . We are so predicteble that i can say u next 11 and how we going to play . Surely we can't wait for last 3 to catch up and then make change .We got Kevin and Lennon and Lukaku , we got Gibson who can distribute but he beeds protections of fast players like McCharty or Besic . But do we need 4 DM sure not against Stoke. We got fine Fullbacks who and how in hell with this side u end up where u are . Who can u blame ?

Totally agree, I know we will still have him as manager next season unless we get relegated. Absolutely certain of that.

To the 25% thus far sticking by Martinez against the howls of the kneejerkers and Kopites: stick with it lads...after the next PL match against Newcastle is over we will be joined by the others and WE will be in the majority again. Dont be unnerved by the defeatists and doom mongers.

And I do not undetstand Howard and Distin, who both served this club well for many years, becoming crap all of a sudden, in the space of one season. The players do not want to play for him？

Correct.

Martinez will have to avoid being less than 6 points off the bottom for the next few games though. He's on a knifes edge but I dont think it'll get any worse than this now.

A victory over Newcastle will settle things down and just about secure us. The run ins and form of the dead men below and the teams above are pretty bad.
