Well whatever you think about Martinez blaming the Europa we have 4 games in the space of 10 days with a trip to Russia a few days before we go away to QPR.

If we get past Kiev we will play again on the Thursday (16th April) and it's Burnley on the Sunday and The following week (23rd) and a few days later it's Man Utd.

We really are going to have to pick one or the other if what Bobby says is true.

If you want to take it even further we again play on the Thursdays before Sunderland and West Ham.

Liverpool can do it and come back and beat the champions, I'm totally gutted coz we can't qualify for Europe anymore under this manager coz we'll be in danger of being relegated if we do, it's absolutely terrible

Signed up tonight after stoke rubbish game, seen the post so casting my vote.
Fuming discussed and not one bit happy.
Had plenty of time to turn things around, enough is enough!!

Straws? Straw more like, he has been clutching at the same one every week.

I think he should go now, one could at least give him time if he was trying different things but it is the same stuff every match and will be for the next ten if he stays - which means we will go down. Who to replace him is the big question though, Royle hasnt done anything significant for a decade, Ferguson has zero experience (and it is perhaps worth noting that since he has been a coach our form has gone downhill) and there are no former players to walk in and turn things round.

That bloke we just got from Southport

I lost faith in him last November. There were red flags starting to appear before pre-season. Whilst other managers were returning to work and getting down to business, he was off somewhere doing punditry work. Pre-season was disjointed and I wasn't surprised.

The Chelsea game at home was a big red flag. Everton just don't concede 6 goals at home to anyone. Regardless of that game, September was a good month in terms of results both in the league and in Europe. I think the Spurs game away (2:1) followed by Hull home (1:1) was the moment I suspected something was seriously wrong. It was the body language of the players.

Since then it is apparent to me that he has lost the players. The biggest indicator is the difference in our Europa games. The players are up for those games and turning in performances that they should be crafting in the league as well.

In a nutshell, this squad should be challenging for top 4. Our Europa performances justify that. The fact that we are languishing with the perennial relegation fodder speaks volumes as the relationship between the players and manager.

Exactly this.

I voted out but a difficult decision because who would we replace him with. Duncan F would only be caretaker until end of the season and the danger is we would appoint 2nd rate manager. BK needs to evaluate his position and where does he want to take the club. Unless we have an injection of capital the club will never attract a manager who can challenge for trophies and maintain the team in the top half of the table.

You're spot on about those two games. The Spurs one especially came at a time when we all thought a good run was just around the corner.

Yep, I remember. The poor display (body language and attitude) from the players against Spurs and Hull compared to the previous games had me thinking that something has probably gone on behind the scenes. If it did then he hasn't recovered the dressing room since and highly likely he never will.

As I've said, our players don't seem the type to kick up much of a fuss. There'll just be niggling doubts in their mind about Martinez's methods. You can't afford that at the top level, everyone needs to be pulling in the same direction.

Having thought about it i've decided, Bobby (and the players!) have got us into this mess, they can bloody well get us out of it, him going now would be a bit like the captain of the Titanic hitting the iceberg then promptly diving overboard. Steady the ship, get us mathematically safe (I don't even care about progress in Europe now) then come the summer Bobby can [Poor language removed] right off

I am letting the dust settle before voting this week.

Giving it a day or two.

What I will say though is that I don't want him still here in August unless I see a complete change in style between now and May.

But I won't hold my breath.

I honestly think he will be gone tommorrow. I would like to see him get the points to ensure safety, finish the season and then move on for the good of all. He seems to be a nice bloke but way out of his depth, I think he has a lot to learn, and would rather see him learn his trade somewere else rather than at our football club ...... results, points matter!
