Well, I still think he's the right man for the job. I saw enough last season, and this season in the Europa to make me believe he can turn this around. Every manager, with the very odd exception, deserves time to make his mark at the club. He's had two totally different seasons at Goodison, one brilliant and one awful. He still has some credit on that basis and on the basis that he is trying to change our players into technical footballers. My biggest issue with him is the reliance on Barry and Howard even when it's very clear they are well past their best. Barry I can live with every other game but not as a permanent fixture in the team. Howard has been a total liability and has cost us points whereas good goalkeepers earn you points.
Some key players have been massive let-downs for me particularly those with World Cup hangovers - Howard, Jagielka, Barkley and Baines.....although the latter seems to have really struggled with his own injuries and that to his great sidekick Pienaar. The main let down though has been Mirallas - on his day a great player to watch, but he has so few days and is more interested in Mirallas than Everton.
Shocking season and one which is difficult to endure as an Evertonian, especially last night which for me was the worst performance of the season....nobody came out of it with any credit whatsoever. But, one swallow does not a summer make and I'm deeply planted in the 'give him time' category. I understand Blues are fed up, but sacking him won't make the individual errors go away.

Don't agree about Mirallas tbh. I think loads of players have been a bigger let down than him this season - Howard, Distin, Barry and Barkley to name just 4.
My disappointment with Mirallas is that Roberto never gives him 90 minutes or a consistent run in the side.

Phone ins.

Not the same thing.

You know when someone in the PL is under real threat: they have massive debates on it and shows devoted to it.

It's not happening.

It will do if we dont beat Newcastle, but it's wishful thinking by the desperate at the moment.
So you're saying that 5 live presenters and pundits including our own Killer Kilbane don't work for the media?

Each to his own.

No divides, just opinions.

Bills opinion is the one that counts most now, strangely, and whilst not a Bill fan, I sincerely hope and expect that he does the right thing and continues to back Roberto Martinez.

I'm a great believer that you have to experience [Poor language removed] and pain to know how really good success feels.

In the immediate aftermath of a game?

It's nothing. It's when it lingers into the week that it's significant.

Last time I bothered to look and listen the scumbags were preoccupied with Evans spitting into some Newcastle players mug.

In other words: they've got **** all of interest to talk about.

I'd say sitting watching Sky News and hoping for breaking news is very unclassy and disloyal. Maybe you should actually read the post he's replying to instead of jumping right in and making a diddle of yourself.

Oooooof, a diddle of meself, any NEEEEED for that...

Phew, got over that quick....anyhoo...Mate, I'm NOT jumping in, I've been following for days, sadly, I'm merely referencing the repeat use of KOPITE & KOPITE behaviour if someone disagrees, that's all. And yes, some would say sitting waiting for breaking news IS unclassy & disloyal...others would say it's simply a desperate urge for something to change to better something he/she loves. Horses for courses, all that jazz...

We're all supposed to be in the same ship, we're not necessarily all rowing the same way but, y'know, doesn't mean we're running similarities with those on the red boat does it?

And I've NO f**king idea why I'm using boats as an analogy 'cos I don't even like the f**king ferry...!!!

Six points above the drop, massive GD advantage if it came down to it, chance to go 9 points clear of the bottom three next weekend. Teams around us all playing top five clubs except us (apart from United)....and some people wonder why Martinez is still here...and why the media aren't talking about it.

That ^^^ is all you need to know for now. PMSL at the thought of some desperately waiting for a sacking and new manager.

Kenwright is probably watching old episodes of Corry and wont be disturbed until the end of March.

What an absolute waste of everyone's efforts this is. Nothing to see here.

Let's all go over to the summer transfer thread and debate who Roberto can bring in.

Not sure where you're getting your fixtures from, but according to the BBC site the next fixtures are:

Sat March 7th QPR vs Spurs

Sat March 14th Palace vs QPR

Leicester vs Hull

Sunderland vs Villa

West Brom vs Stoke

Burnley vs Man City

Everton vs Newcastle

So most of the clubs around us are playing each other apart from Burnley.

...on the run in.

No coincidence that what I said about poor formation and shoe Horning people into position still stands 20 games. Manager needs to take responsibility for this.

Players are doing what's told of them, just lacking even more urgency due to this awful plight we are in

it also still stands that the players still cant seem to do much of he basics if the game right and seem unable to handle the pressure of this crap season and the irate restless fans. regardless of tactics or starting positions there is a startling lack of cojones in the players and distinct lack of leadership.

anyway. i guess we will see.

Sorry, your post sounded like you were saying the teams around us were all playing top 5 teams in the next round. So all the teams around us, and ourselves, are playing top 5 teams before the end of the season is the point? To me, if you are going to make any fixtures more important than others then it is the ones where teams around the relegation area play each other. So for us the ones against QPR, Burnley, Villa and Sunderland would be the most important on this basis. Winning the home games against Burnley and Sunderland would make us just about safe whatever happens with anything else. You can make yourself mad going through the ifs, buts and maybes.

The people that want him to stay a 3rd year what makes you think he will turn it round then after the mess he has got us in now.
He has had 4 transfer windows to bring his players in and money will be tight.
Given the extended contracts to hibbert, howard, osman and barry who will hardly feature next season how will he sort it
