This wont help at all and makes us look small time. We all want things to improve but confidence in the team is shot already. Martinez is a bright fella, despite the mask he puts on with the media, he knows the last two seasons haven't been good enough. Remember when we laughed at the Chelsea fans for their A4 'Rafael OUT' posters, put the bedsheets away.
does it?

So making a sign to express displeasure makes us look small time (despite the fact that Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have all done similar in recent times), but sitting in 12th and accepting it makes us look, what? Big time?

The continued employment of Martinez makes us look small time. What happened to Chelsea after they got rid of Rafael? They got a better manager and won the league. Everyone is laughing at us currently. I couldn't give a stuff what other fans think of us, I want them to hate us because we are successful.

How many times has that been done this season? Over and over again. Has it worked?

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm KEEN on emulating our neighbours, but you know what, Hodgson had had 20 games when they were 12th and they decided it wasn't good enough and got him removed. BTW, he'd won 7 games, which is only 2 less than we've won in 30 games this season.

God knows we all pay enough money one way or another to support this club. There's nothing wrong with using whatever means at our disposal to ensure that EVERYONE, from the manager, to the board, to the wider media knows that we demand better.
He's been consistently bad for nearly 18 months . So why has this banner idea come about now less than 3 weeks before our biggest game in 4 years ?

I presume because currently we don't look remotely like a team who are going to win this game.

To be honest I would have preferred to read this morning that he was gone, give someone else time to pick up the players and prepare us for the semi.

A banner like that can only have an overwhelmingly positive effect. As if a cloud has been lifted, it'll turn mice into men on the pitch, and get Roberto to instantly buck his ideas up for the remainder of the 90 minutes.

Immediately following the match, Moshiri will drop the axe on Martinez, replace him with Guardiola, and shower the creators of the banner with praise. They will, shortly thereafter, be promoted to the board of Everton Football Club, ushering in a new dawn of national, continental and global dominance.

All will rejoice. All from one banner at Watford.

It's called tipping point theory, or critical mass if you prefer.

People will put up with an awful lot, and to be honest, if there was any sign of genuine improvement I'd agree with you.

But look at our last two games - has ANYTHING in them given the impression that Martinez is any better equipped to confront that massive game, than whoever we'd get in to replace him?

im all for showing him we aren't happy . But personally I'd wait for the outcome of the semi final. And like I said I'd do it with an angry goodison rather than a banner . But that's just my opinion

Fair enough mate

I want rid, but maybe wait until after the semi, we'll need to pull together and have no divisions in the run up to stand any chance. If we bottle it, and league form doesn't improve unleash hell. Having said that I don't think we need to specifically mention Martinez, just appeal to moshiri that the whole club needs a clean out top to bottom, 21 years not good enough - time for change etc. Bit classier like.
