People are dismissive because they don't class Japan/Asia. Japan played some wonderful stuff.

Think they lost because all they lack is more height and physical presence (in general) to defend hoof ball from Belgium (Fellaini etc).

I won't disagree that was a factor, but Belgium won that by scoring an absolute fluke goal at 2 nil down and a wonderful counter at 2-2 at the death. Japan was not naive to try to win it in regular time. If they showed any naivety it was not rugby tackling KDB when the break started at the end.

Japan’s manager failed to shut up shop. 2-0 up to 2-3 is criminal. Like a typical Martinez performance.

Shelled out by Wales, life and death with Japan - I sense a pattern emerging. You can't blame Martinez as he's just a passenger, a more media-intensive version of the kitman, but the squad doesn't appear to be able to pull itself together. Best bet for RM is to ask Hazard to pick Fellaini to start against Brazil, they fancy themselves as a physical side but they've not encountered the Feli-monster making his presence felt in the mixer. Establish a proper physical elbowprint up top and maybe Rom can shin one in on the rebound.
