Martinez complains to Mike Riley over recent ref calls

About time the manager and players started putting some pressure on the ref.

Baines first goalscorer tonight?

Yes thought the Stones call was just as valid but the way they handled the Mirallas call was just plain weird. It was either a penalty, a dive or nothing - certainly not a free kick yards outside the box.

The Man City game was a total mare by the officials though.

This is the thing. Mistakes you can handle. Its normal, it all happens in a split second and sometimes you can see perhaps the refs line of sight could be obstructed.

However the failing to apply the rules correctly, or making decisions based on other factors such as evening up a bad decision drives me crazy. The worst is the drag back on the shirt or blatant trip from behind when nowhere near the ball. Should be a yellow card every single time, no matter what minute of the game it is and whether its the first foul by that player.

Yeah yeah just get them to moan more at them on the pitch like other teams instead of wondering round like a team of choirboys please.

If you can't beat them you've got to join them, it's no good us being the moral guardians of the premiership if we keep getting shat on.

Miss McCarthy for this. Contests everything and has a go at the ref no matter how blatant the decision.

working the ref is an integral part of the game at all levels let's hope Martinez is beginning to see this.
