Martinez - busy man

Ihaters

Player Valuation: £35m
Didn't realise how much work he'd done on actual personnel changes rather than just tactics.

If this Atsu lad joins on loan, Martinez could actually field an entire team of players he's either promoted to regular first team status, or bought/loaned in the slightly over a year he's been with us.

................Robles
Stones..Alkaraz...Besic....Oviedo
...........McCarthy Barry
McGeady ...Barkley ....Atsu
................Lukaku

And robles/Alkaraz aside it looks a pretty mint line-up as well.

Add Kone and Galloway for the bench, and its an incredible, but very discretely managed amount of change for less than two summers here isn't it?

Add to that the long term contracts being signed left right and centre and it shows how well he's done in terms of players in compared to players out...

Anyone miss Fellani, Jelavic, Anichebe or Heittinga when we're playing?

We've actually lost 11 players and signed 10 in just over a year... And I thought we only had boring summers.

Genuinely impressed with his transfer activity so far, despite some early concerns.

I don't necessarily miss Fellaini but I'd take him back like. Wouldn't go in my ideal starting 11 but it would be good to have him. But either way Martinez has done fantastically and I've got the feeling he wants to take us from being a good club to a great club and he wants to do that by silverware.

With Robles in goal we wouldn't get very far.

Nah mate it was more a case of being amazed at how many he's bought in, really doesn't seem like a whole teams worth.
But also, you only need to swap Howard and Jagielka into that team and its formidable.

literally half those players have massive question marks for me, robles, alcatraz, mcgeady in particular are simply not everton players in my opinion. atsu a complete unknown quantity at this point and even stones might not be ready to start week in week out.

Formidable? Without reverting to a dictionary, I wouldn't say that term is suitable.

Not a bad squad but it's by far not our strongest and would struggle against top opposition. Good; not formidable.

Older fans would argue the oposite about McGeady. He IS an Everton player, style anway.

I also hate the "Everton player" type of thing.....its bad enough Man United fans saying it !!!

Our full squad with Jags, Baines and Coleman would struggle against the best sides, they are still formidable though, I'll downgrade it to being of competitive quality if that helps :)

Not to forget the massive changes hes made to the backroom staff

Good point.. He's had a surprisingly busy year hasn't he?
Thought it was just a few players, and formation/style changes, but that's a significant overhaul whilst adding all the above to our best players from before hand. Good job that man.
