Make no mistake the odds are huge the top teams don't play hoofball they beat teams because they are more creative, cleverer and effective not a single club since Prem inception has managed what we are embarking upon without shedloads.

Are Evertonians really up for the challenge?

It can be done. Sin miedo. Fed up with this instant gratification some people want, and the belief success is always about big money signings. Those who prefer a style which may grind out some results but won't ever challenge for real honours.

2010
Roberto Martinez always ends his column in Wigan's match programme with the same phrase. Sin miedo. It is Spanish for 'no fear'.

'At Swansea, I signed off with another line,' says Martinez. 'A Por Todas, which means "we need to go for it - we can't waste any time".

* Everton had a massive 22 shots (eight on target, six off target, eight blocked, one hit woodwork) v West Brom without scoring a goal.
* Nikica Jelavic has not scored in any of his last 11 PL appearances.
* Phil Jagielka attempted 21 long balls v West Brom and only 13 reached a teammate.

To me, these stats from the weekend show me that Martinez has set it out right, we just need a goalscorer/bit of luck.

22 shots and no goal is upsetting to read, and for all those claiming all we do is pass pass pass, jags still did 21 long balls!!

Ah man I miss Moyes the way we use to steam roll teams at home 4 or 5 nil every week...o wait we didn't. If Moyes was in charge on sat we would of lost 1-0.

As for ppl in the box for corners, what the point? Last season we scored twice for corners..twice.

You can't say cos Martinez did bad at Wigan he will here. Moyes never won a thing here yet he has just taken over Man U.

You can't judge off 2 games. Look at the Norwich game, that lad must of played the lottery that night after the luck he had. Some how got lucky 3 times going past defenders then hits the post only for it to land back at him an he finishes it off. He then goes to shoot and completely miskicks it and it lands on the strikers head.

What has pleased me so far is we haven't seen the Moyes tactic of go 1-0 then defend for the rest of the game. WBA didn't look like they were going to score. Yes we passed it a lot but so what? Better then defending for the last 20 mins only to concede.

Answer me this....if Moyes stayed for another 11 years would we of won anything?

I was thinking it was only a couple aswell. Surprised its as high as six.

Still get a bit hyped up for each corner willing on jags, distin and felli...but then I realise its not as regular an outlet for us as it used to.

I think Deulofeu will help....he is an excellent crosser and corner taker.
