Everton boss Sam Allardyce says a survey sent to fans asking them to rate his performance on a scale of zero to 10 was "a marketing slip-up".

The survey was part of an exercise with a fan panel designed to discover how connected they feel to the club.

Allardyce replaced Ronald Koeman as manager in November.

"The survey passed out by the director of marketing was a slip-up," he said. "His knowledge is about marketing and not football. He got things wrong."

As the OP asked for a rating on Allerdyce's performance so far, I've given him 10 because he's done a hell of a lot better than most posters on here expected him to do when he was taken on.

Are there really fans who thought that he would do much worse than this? I think the vast majority expected him to avoid relegation

For some fans, his signing raised expectations of qualifying for Europe, and even a top six finish. Instead, we are ten points behind Burnley. And one point ahead of Newcastle, who have a game in hand. Roll on Monday.

Did you miss the period Unsworth was in charge?

Lost 5 in 8, the performances were as bad as ever and one solution he came up with at Lyon was to lump balls up to Gylfi Sigurdsson up front.

It was horrible, but I'm just trying to argue that the way he seemed to be going about his business in training and in the media - I've got no evidence like - would have had enough to save us from relegation

I think that some of people think that he wasn't that bad compared to Koeman or Martinez or Unsworth.
Well those are not the people we should be comparing him to, otherwise we'll stay sh'ite.

0/10 is very harsh and a bit unfair. He's done what he was brought in for. A task that turned out a lot easier than expected due to how poor the rest of the league are . Unsworth would've done better and at least it would've been more entertaining .Anyway thanks and goodbye, but no need to be rude about it. Just makes us look a bit twattish imo.
