Modest improvement on Tom Clev? Are you mental? THe lad scored 11 and assisted 6 last season, what did Cleverley do aside from run around a lot? Behave.

I am sick of players who 'want' champions league football and think they achieve it by moving to a team that has qualified.
How about they get stuck in and qualify with their own team. Pathetic wingeing 'I want'

I just dont think we cant sign someone because he appears to be a tool, how do we really know? Hes got a bit of snide about him which is good at times.

I like the lad, tall, powerful, quick and can assist and score.

He had a good season, granted, however three of those goals were penalties which most people would rattle away easily. He wouldn't be happy to join us as second choice and that's all he would be, in my opinion, as he's offers nowhere near as much as Mirallas (if he isn't being trained by Martinez) and I'd even prefer Lennon to him too. Clearly he's better than Cleverley, but I don't feel we need him and that our priorities lie in other positions.

I read something last season which called him a failed striker that had rejuvenated himself playing on the left for stoke.

Sky have him down as a striker and elsewhere tend to label him as a forward. Only wiki says left wing but probably because that is where he plays now.

Either way he was a striker at some point judging his scoring record and had struggled since then. If he is a decent left winger now then perhaps worth bringing in as an alternative to kev?

he played as a second striker for Werder Bremen but his best games always came when on the wing, very much like Mirallas - who was often classed as a striker before he came to us.
 
Typical GOT this. Moan about lack of signings then when we might get one - moan cos it's not "marquee" enough. Utterly intriguing the mental state and capacity of some in here. Might do a paper on it.

Perhaps Koeman is thinking along the lines of pushing Deulofeu up front permanantly as second striker as per Saturday, with this fella taking his place? That could accommodate Mirallas too.

U even watch football last season? rather watch Cleverly on the left, laughable!!
We are not a top 4 club so I reckon hes a good addition. Good post above from a Stoke fan regarding how they rate him. Think they know better than you and me about him.
Sounding like man city fans on here from a few years back when they came into money. Reality is we are still not in the top tier so signings like this are a must.

Mate, it's not even worth replying to. He also posted this, stating players play better when they're given a key number ffs.

Football is traditionally played with shirt numbers 1 - 11. Strikers can get a boost by being given the 'special' number 9 shirt, wingers traditionally love the number 7, etc. I say Deulofeu would be delighted to receive the 7 as opposed to his current number which possibly suggests he isn't good enough to be a starter (amongst numbers 1 - 11).

Not quite sure as to why you decided on a somewhat aggressive tone in your reply?
