He said wanted to raise the standard of reffing over there and took it upon himself to be their saviour.

Shouldn't his "gameplan" have been to get decisions right and ref the match fairly?

Ah yes but his answer to any charge would be that the emphasis was on the words "let them lose the title" as in self-destruct rather than personally cause it.... as in my gameplan was (to just) let them lose the title (by self-destructing) rather than be the one who brought it about by flashing red cards)
