Neiler

Player Valuation: £100m
Despite being tossed out of Everton like old milk, Marcus Bent has declared his love for the Blues in an interview with 442 magazine.

The Birmingham City front man, currently on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers, was phenomenal in the first half of the 2004/5 season when Everton finished fourth in the Premier League.

And despite leaving for Charlton as early as January 2006, Bent has become an adopted Evertonian.

He said: “I can’t find the words to describe how special that club is.

“I’d kiss the Everton badge now if I had the shirt – that’s how passionate I am about them. I’ve become a fan having played there.”

Still only 32, Bent has played for a staggering fourteen clubs in a career that has spanned fifteen years. But by his own admission, leaving Everton was the most difficult.

He added: “We’d done well but I was left out and felt I deserved more respect and honesty. I’d drive home and think “What’s happened here? I love this club, I’m passionate about this club, I’ve played well and I’m out of the side”

Always felt he was hard done by, will always be a huge part of our best ever PL and unexpected PL finish. Reading that i was thinking how great it would be if a few of our squad had the kind of passion he speaks about and showes!

Marcus Bent helped us finish 4th and get into champions league qualifcation.

No matter how many times i read that it never seems to be true.

But i know it was.

Hell I'd take him now. No one worked better with Cahill (not even Baines) and Ossie. We don't finish 4th on 04-05 without him.
