2019/20 Marco Silva

My concern with him is when things aint going to plan - the team seem to panic and rush things.

Today soon as Gomes went off everyone was mis hitting passes, running balls out of play.

I just dont know, under Moyes even when we had crap up top for us you felt a goal would come but you just knew today it would end a draw.

Hopefully Kean & Iwobi can give us a boost as the quality is there but I question the mentality.

Watford is massive which is crazy considering its only game 2 - drop points at Goodison and pressure is right on considering the expectations this season/poor end to the TW.

Fans expected points on the board in the opening 5/6 games.
Are you serious?

Are you serious?

Definitely.

You think fans wont be booing if next Saturday we lose or draw 0-0? He's spent near £200 million in two seasons!

Expectations are through the roof this season with the top 6 wide open - fans want to see us having a good crack and 1/2 points out of Crystal Palace & Watford is just a repeat of last season.

I can't blame Silva for today as we need to judge once all the new signings are in the side which will be a few weeks - however we still have another quality in that team to be getting wins against these teams.

Aston Villa away follows which is certainly not a 3 pointer looking at the performance they put in against Spurs and should we not be clinical they could easily grind out a 1-0 scrappy result.

I appreciate it sounds stupid with it only being 2 games but for me we have to show that last season is behind us and this year is different and that starts with the inconsistent results especially against weaker teams.

You need to get some perspective mate. It sounds insanely stupid with two games in.

And it makes you seem a bit naive and, if I’m honest, immature and thoughtless.

Not really - we missed out on europe by 3 points last season - thats 1 games result.

I couldn't care if its 2,3,9 or 34 games in mate - its the same manager, largely the same team as last season and I want to see progression in our performances.

Yes the new signings will hopefully improve us but we still should be beating the likes of Palace without Zaha regardless of if Moise Kean is on the pitch or not.

At what point does the question get asked "what are the coaches/manager doing to improve the players already here?"

Look at Sterling's transformation under Pep - our fanbase has become too spoilt with money and blame anyone without realising its the managements job to get the best out the players at the club.

Next week I want to see some sort of plan - some clinical play and interchange with the front 3 etc.

Mate, not all players are fit and almost 100m worth of talent are not 100% fit today. Bit unfair to judge now?

It's like everything needs to be perfect for us to win a game. I guess that is what comes from his style and the kind of inconsistent players we have?

The fans deffo wont be booing against Watford no matter what the score........at the start of the season, even if we would have signed Ronaldo and Messi, we would have to give it time for the players to gel

Gbamin aside who was a sub it was the same team as last season mate.

Yet the exact same result and performance - almost identical in fact.

Yes the players aint 100% fit but neither were Palace. I just think we give Silva too much credit at times whereas previous managers like Koeman and Alladyce would be slated for some of our performances against God awful sides.

Cant judge fully on today but next week there has to be improvement especially from an attacking perspective.

There hopefully will be improvement, but the thing is we know we need a decent striker and a replacement for Gana, but we need to give the incomings a chance to prove themselves...i accept that it would be great if they where immediately world beaters, but that was always unlikely....I am just saying, just lets give them a couple of months at least....

Reading the forum tonight and some Twitter plenty of fans dont seem to patient, not sure if its because of the money spent or ending the season last so well, but its going to take a month or so for this new squad to gel. Fully expect a few more poor performances, but if we can come out with a point away and a clean sheet its not so bad for August

Don't some of you ever learn? Its always the same with some of our fans. Everton lose/don't win = the manager is the worst person in the world and is a handful of games away from getting the sack.

You can very easily pick out the people who only ever talk Everton when online and have never been to a game of football in their life.

Do you not think we were v unlucky today?

Three off the line, final ball let down.

Bit more ruthless we won that easy.

Control the game.
