Think we are seeing what can happen when you prevent a Manager from moving.

As was mentioned, you can lash a player in the reserves if he doesn't want to be at a Club, but you cant do that to a Manager.

Unlucky Watford, should have took that £15m you utter meffs.

As @Eggs was saying, probably a bit too early to celebrate his glorious failure as there's plenty of time for him to get things back on track

That being said, I was never sure about him and would have taken Dyche over him given the choice. It looks like that may be proven to have been the correct opinion if Watford continue to sink like a stone

I must admit, I'd have a bit of a chuckle seeing them drop after their fans were having it large only recently

Poor Marco. He has somewhat lost the team and fans. Even if he turns it around, the bad sentiment will rear its ugly head the next time there is a barren patch. He should have come out and denied his interest in Everton and forced his way over to us. Now everyone knows he will jump ship if possible. He might well have jumped if it had been Arsenal or someone else higher up in the food chain than Everton – so any mid-sized team will have doubt in their minds if he is a candidate for their manager. And seemingly Watford could well lose out on any monies made by releasing him, and potentially will have to replace him at their own expense.

A very strange episode. I do think that we come out of it relatively unscathed. If anything, it opened our eyes as to the complexities of changing manager mid-season. We need a plan in future if we felt compelled to do it again. I think the bozos in charge of Watford would play it differently too if it ever replayed, though I certainly think they probably did what they thought on the face of it, was the right thing for Watford.

I don’t think we’ll see Marco as a candidate in the future. His Everton dream is over. Paulo Fonseca on the other hand…

Silly muppet should have had his agent seek assurances behind the scenes - aka get "tapped up" - then resigned on the spot and grabbed the biggest job opportunity he may ever have with both hands.

By not doing so, we're seeing the end result. Terrible mistake for him. Don't think he's a bad manager to be honest but he reeks of Martinez at the same time, and not just due to his nationality.

Martinez is Spanish mate, Silva is Portuguese, they aren't the same country yanno

If we'd gone after dyce, he had made it known he wanted to leave, and the club had blocked it mate, I guarantee Burnley would be plummeting like a stone like Watford are.

Most clubs rely on the players buying into the manager, something that's hard to get them to do when you've shown your own hand in wanting to leave at the first good opportunity.

I still think his name will crop up during the summer. Fat Sam will buy a centr forward and will get us 7/8 place in the league. The powers that be know that Fat Sam's game plan is only good enough for that sort of finish and will start looking around for someone to take us on. Or they might be happy with 7/8 and keep him on for another year.

They were on the slide before he was linked to us.

When they came to play us I think they had lost three of their previous four games or sommat.....including a home defeat to Stoke among them
