I wish the likes of Hodgson would retire and let young British managers have a chance.

As for Dyche, why would he leave Burnley? They're on the same level as us right now.
Moyes, Hodgson, Allardyce, Bruce. They all need to [Poor language removed]

I’d take him to be honest. Bit right now, but after the season ends. Give him the money and warrant him safety (didn’t he sign for just 1 year at Watford?), should be good enough to brought us back to 7th place.

And he’s playing some nice football at least.

I am not banging a drum for Silva, however I do think he would be better for us than Fat Sam, but that is purely because I think FS is complete sh1t.
Look what FS has done since coming here, a couple of good draws and 3,wins against very very poor teams. More importantly look at were we are now
, look at how we have preformed in our last five games. We had our first shot on target this year yesterday. We drew with West Brom through our last substitution. In order words FS had a plan that didn't work and it was only the last throw of the dice which got us a draw. We were very lucky not to be beaten again. What is there in this run that makes anyone think he is our saviour.

Allardyce is obviously a short term fix

Signing Silva would be a long term commitment, and I think he's cack, so if course I'll tolerate the short term pain of Samuel for now

Not arsed what style of football we play so long as we win

We'd win more with Dyche than we would with Silva imo

Honestly don't think Silva is any great shakes

It was a tongue in cheek comment anyway mate, but I’d choose Howe over Dyche personally, purely cos he gets them knocking it about. Not that I’d turn my nose up at Dyche either.

Taking off the blue-tinted glasses, I think Dyche would be a very difficult person to currently attract because of the growing disarray at the club.

Clearly, I know people will mention the club's stature, larger support and more financial clout at his disposal which will be used as positives.

Nevertheless, on the other hand he'd inherit a team with copious amounts of heartless, overpaid mercenaries which he may struggle to control.

Also, there's the whole Walsh scenario which up to now hasn't come to fruition like we'd expected and may frustrate his own control over the club.

He's the King at Burnley and their owners have stood with him even when he got them relegated, as they knew he would bring about change.

No chance he'll ever be given as much leeway, patience or control here so it would arguably be a slightly risky - if not a foolish - choice for him.

I have a horrible feeling that we're edging towards the likes of QPR who spent lots but actually didn't improve at all; in fact, they declined.

There's a definite ceiling as manager of Burnley

If you want to go the bigger clubs you have to relinquish some control, it's just the way it is

Every other club, player and supporter is now finding this out.....

....it's not necessarily a good thing though.

Silva is realistic. Why would Tuchel or Ancelotti or whoever come to us? We're not an attractive draw. No European football, no trophies since 1995, and a poor defence.

Since the beginning of the premier league we have made nine full managerial appointments. Out of those nine only two of them were good appointments for the club. Those being Joe Royle and David Moyes. All the others were varying degrees of terrible, we have basically stumbled from one disaster to another with only one FA Cup and stability under Moyes (which has since gone) to show for it. We as a club simply cannot afford another managerial disaster with this next appointment and Marco Silva would be disastrous. For the love of God Everton don't even think about appointing this clown now, in the summer or ever! At least with Big Sam we all know he'll be shown the door in May but Silva? We'd be strapped to that albatross for years!

Certainly a valid point of view, personally I find the man distasteful and I find his approach to football appalling. Sacking him now and signing Silva for three years would be a big gamble. The sensible approach is to leave FS and his cronies in place, buy a left back and hope we can steal enough points to keep us up. Sack the lot of them in the summer having sat down and worked out what sort of manager we want and who we can get. It pains me greatly to have to say FS, Shakespeare and Lee should stay a moment longer at Goodison but we could compound a major mistake with a further knee jerk reaction and make things worse.
We are definitely in "Squeeky bum time".
