Bored of sacking managers and going through that tedious garbage.

Give him and Brands the summer to rework it.

I'm absolutely sick to death of changing managers. Hate that we have been through so many. But on the other hand a patato doesn't have 3 different clubs top for conceding from set plays. So patato please.

Farhad has apparently said that “it’s a project and we want to develop young players long term and Silva is the one for that” and that “in this business you have to hold your nerve”.

Looks like he’s being given more time as expected. It just doesn’t feel like he’s about to be sacked despite how poor we are.

Who are these youngsters he's wanting to develop?

There is no agenda, over time, you create more chances, you will win. This isn’t random. It’s fairly simple. Look, if you think gifting the ball to the opponent 80% of the time and letting take 23 shots and you only take 3 is a way to consistently win football matches, fine. Good luck.

The point is Martinez and Silva (till this point) can’t do it. The philosophy may be there but they just can’t force their teams to win in many occasions. Plus they were atrocious in setting up defence which is their biggest flaw in their games.

I really don't think he did.

Silva had to deal with taking a squad coached - and in some cases like Lookman, nearly ruined - by Allardyce and then Koeman before him on.

We showed some good stuff in the first half of the season. Since Christmas it has been a slog.

I honestly don't even count Watford and Newcastle in our bad run, or City. While I won't argue we deserved to win any of those games, we at least showed decent flashes and still had that semblance of form/style of play. Spurs was a mad one and Burnley aside the last six weeks has been abysmal.

oh mate boo hoo

he's a coach, it's literally what he gets paid to do

fat sam had to content with cuco martina and Ashley Williams in his defence for most of his stint and still managed to get them more organised that what we have now

we shown decent flashes against Watford and Newcastle? did we? Watford absolutely played us off the park and we got VERY luck with dignes free kick and Newcastle done a job on its up to us to break them down

silva has been horrible, sick of all the excuses he gets as well ITS NOT HIS SQUAD, HE NEEDS TIME ETC ETC

If fatty or koeman or Martinez was in this boat now EVERYONE would be absolutely fuming so why is silva getting away with it given this clearly is our best "squad" we have had in a while

how we are comfortably getting beat by some of the teams we have been recently is down to terrible man management

The footy we played at the start of the season in patches was really good to watch mate, but since the the Derby the footy has been a shambles to watch, misplaced passes all over the gaff, no movement, crab footy, no passion, no desire, players looking half arsed. It's been that bad that Schneiderlin would look a decent player out there amongst this bunch!

It’s like bobby... the more time he had the more he could impose his ideas and the worse we became . Mark my words he is bobby mrk2

Imagine if Koeman and Allardyce done the same thing.

And a good manager will get the best out of his squad. Moyes for example when he managed Everton.

Failure to beat Watford and Newcastle is bad, real bad. We normally beat them at home. Last season we beat them.

Ok, whoa. We completely dominated Newcastle this year. I was ticked just like everyone else, but we had the ball the whole game, they bunkered in, we gave them the ball back a bit, we struggled to break them down, and they got a point. We played well against the last year, but they had plenty of opportunities to scored against us. I recall Gayle having several opportunities that didn’t go his way. But that was one of the few matches we actually played well if I recall. However, it was a game, it wasn’t just Newcastle under siege and bunkering down.

I'm not making excuses, I'm just sick of seeing Allardyce's name. He was a dinosaur who damaged this club just as much as his predecessor in half of the time.

You do realize we conceded 46 goals from open play last year leading the entire league. My point is not to defend Silva, my point is that we were BAD last year.

do you fancy silva or something

your overly defensiveness of him is really bizarre mate

we didn't totally dominate Newcastle either, we had all the ball because they let you have all the ball. we hardly created anything
