Just gonna update this

Regarding 'fine margins' that have been mentioned within this thread.
Correct me if I'm wrong, we have yet to win a game that we've been behind in.

Home Games
Huddersfield -H (1)
West Ham - H (0)
Newcastle - H (1)

Away Games
Arsenal - A (0)
United - A (0)
Liverpool - A (0)

Overall = 2 Points out of a possible 18 from loosing positions

Cup Games
Southhampton (Cup) - H (Knocked out)

I may also be wrong on this but we haven't lost a game we've lead.

Home Games
Southampton - H (3)
Fulham - H (3)
Palace - H (3)
Brighton - H (3)
Cardiff - H (3)
Watford - H (1)*

Away Games
Wolves - A (1)
Bournemouth - A (1)
Leicester - A (3)
Chelsea - A (1)**

Overall = 22 Points from a possible 30 from leading positions

Cup Games
Rotherham (Cup) - H (Win)

There's a 'pattern' we don't seem capable of chasing results
That said I'm more then happy with Silva :)

*Unsure were to place Watford as its the first game we've lead and ended up going behind.
**Again unsure were to place Chelsea given it was 0-0
How can u be happy after pointing all that out!

I am a little concerned...

Watching last night Watford dominated the midfield battle all night long & should of gained an away victory...

For nearly 20mins of the second half they attacked us & eventually we conceded two soft goals, it was not until Watford sat back & defended that lead that we started to come back into the game again.

Marco Silva had to change something quicker in that second half it could not have been more clearer, we must be able to adapt quickly &'change formations to accommodate pressure periods & stop things before they happen & not let things develop & do nothing to stop it.

Who is not to say we sat back on the one goal lead but it didn't work out. Who is not to say we found ourselves behind so had to attack to find a goal.

It is the easiest thing to say a team under pressure is sitting back.

We were the home team but were outplayed by Watford that is my concern...

The formation we were playing was ineffective against a strong Watford narrow midfield especially during the first 15-20mins of the second half, we were 1-0 up & a change of formation or substitute could have stopped the attacks & prevented them from scoring two soft goals.

Up until our goal we were the better team so all I am saying is it could be construed as us sitting back

But that is the core of the malady that has pervaded this club for years now. Why on earth do we sit back and try to defend a narrow lead at home? We did the opposite against Arsenal where we pressed them in their own half when we did not have possession and I really felt we had turned a corner.

But alas no....we are back to the old uncertain, hesitant, scared Everton that has been our lot for too long.

I am not saying we did sit back but I am also asking that did Watford sit back or did we come out. The point I am making is a team under pressure can easily say they sat back.

I think the game rather passed Gueye by - didn't look his usual self whether it was injury or tiredness. Sigurdsson too. If we're going to play three up top, Siggy or whoever is in that '10' role has to come back and help defend when they have the ball.

Needs to have a think - 3 games and 5 points lost.

With City and Spurs to come. Fun times...

I'm not saying he needs a result in the next two games but it would help to build belief from the fans this is different to what we've had in recent years.

Moyes had that defining moment with Rooney's winner against Arsenal very early on and Martinez went and won at Old Trafford too. Things like that go a long way to getting fans on board.
