Despite defeat, I feel I may have jumped the gun too quickly with my opinion on Silva.

I’m still raging with the cup defeat, but we actually look a much better team over the last several games.

I think he’s slowly working out who he can and can’t rely on.

Despite the defeat today, I see progress in the last couple of weeks. As long as we get our job done against the lesser teams we will be fine.

He can’t finish the chances for the players. Against Arsenal and United he’s seen Calvert Lewin pass the ball back to Cech when clean through and Bernard miss an open net. I thought a change in players might help shake the Everton mindset but it hasn’t yet. We need a result like City got at United when they won 6-1 just to absolutely banish the monkey on our backs once and for all.

We went to Arse, we played our football and we got done by a cracker.
We went to Utd, we played our football and we got done by a shocking peno.

Both games we had enough chances to win, both games we didnt sit back and accept our fate, just lacking a little quality and the results will come.

Very pleased so far, nothing like the finished product but the signs are very pleasing.

I agree 100 % with you mate.
Aggravating today , like at Arsenal , but we have come a million miles in 1 transfer window.
COYB.

We went to Arsenal and got done by Walcott's laziness.

MOTD2 got it right tonight (well Ian Wright). Too many times we chose the wrong option or played the wrong ball in the final third and thats what cost us.
MOTD spot on.
Silva to blame here. Players are playing out of position, not playing to their strengths.
Poor management.

We are better bc we have better players.

I'm confused. One guy is playing out of his position to get him on the field. One guy. Who else is playing out of position?

Beyond that, we got a bit disorganized in the midfield a couple times, we allowed Coleman (or Gana/Keane while recovering) too often to have to defend 1 v. 1 in dangerous spots. We collectively did not do a great job of getting in passing lanes at times and weren't perfectly organized on D.

Still, if we make better decision, finish better - two free headers for example, we are right in there.
