I advise against drilling down to ascertain where specific points have been dropped thus far this season. Because, let me assure you, by season's end, your drilling will see you falling out the other side of the planet...

It hasnt been a great start.

Lots of mitigation of course, 2 red cards, 1 of them taking away our best player this season, lots and lots of injuries, not just injuries, but people rushed back before they are "ready", I know his haters would rather ignore these issues, but they are there for sure. Up next we have the Arse, im not really hopeful of us getting anything there if im honest, we are in terrible form and its always a tough place to go, but lets hope we can at least perform to a degree and it gives us something to take forward.

There are no easy games in this league, a nothing team like Huddersfield came to Goodison and camped with 2 banks of 5, they of course do the same against the better teams in the league but they have the quality to blow them away. We sadly do not yet.

We are 2months into Silvas reign, I take you back to my opening statement, it hasnt been a great start at all, I of course expected better given our fixtures.

But it is what it is, as ive said before im giving Silva a free pass this season, people saying Sam got 8th and expecting the same are deluded, other teams improved in the summer, so did we, but the league hasnt stayed the same, most teams in the league improved their squads.

Honestly people need to get it out their heads "But the top 6 do this", we arent a top 6 team, we aspire to be a top 6 team, its going to take a few more years till we can compete at the top of the table. We need a settled squad, a settled manager and a long term plan, we need patience as a fanbase, we need to stop going full Geordie lads.

They have but so do we. On paper we have the 7th best squad in PL. We got 8th under a 3 managers in one very very average season. Burnley now show their true colours. 7th is up for grip and this is not a big ask at all.

Are you really referring back to Moyes' past finishes and suggesting we'd revert to type if he came back? He's as archaic as you are.
How did he used to train them? Have them running up sand dunes before making them run around a pitch for two hours and finally treating them to 10 minutes of kick and rush with a heavy leather ball?

Then finally a tactics talk focusing on the W-M formation?

If he was archaic and backwards he would not have done so well here. We had the best scouting system in the league when he was here.

I know it's been a poor start given the fixtures we've had but I can't believe people are calling for Moyes or Allardyce back. Bar half a season in 12/13 when we actually played some decent footy he was basically finished in his last 2/3 seasons with us. Genuinely laughed when he said we were a striker away from a title challenge. No away wins in 44 against the "big 4" let's not forget. Yet apparently according to Sky he had a good derby record. Man Utd exposed his lack of ambition and clueless tactics to the world. He's had 2 more sackings and a relegation since. As for the bring back Big Sam shouts, him being anywhere near Goodison let alone the dugout for 6 months was a disgrace. As is his tour of the media trying to rewrite history and big up the job he did.

I wasn't a fan of Silva or wanted him before he was appointed but he's had to rebuild a shambles of a squad that Koeman and Walsh left him behind. There's also 3 different styles of play in 1 squad from 3 different managers so it's going to take time to get his methods fully across. All his new signings haven't played together yet either due to injury or suspension so let's just wait to see what we look like in a few months time before properly judging him.

This is far too rational and sensible to actually be a post from you

I hate to bring up that lot but I’m gonna. Klopp took over in Oct 2016 with 3 quarters of a season to play and finished a pretty average 8th in the league. It took him time to get the players fit enough to play his way, took him time to buy the players he wanted to play his way and they are now benefitting.

We’ve chased Silva, got our man and now have a manager with a philosophy completely different to the 2 managers before him and like Klopp he needs time to really implement his ideas and get the players to play his way. Sacking him this seaon just takes us back to square one again. The fact it’s even being suggested it ridiculous. Give the man time and let him do his job.

Exactly. We need to stick with him and hopefully Moshiri understands football enough to not expect miracles so early on. It's going to take time but we will get there. If we sack him at the end of the season due to finishing.....I don't know....13th or something. Give him time to fix it.

Allardyce was wrong for the job in so many ways we established that. Koeman had a difficult start to his second season and in my opinion should have been given a chance to turn it round. The mess in the back room didn't help him and he could probably work well with Brands. I know I'll get shot down for saying that but I think we sacked him too early.
