he's not getting sacked for not getting 7th next year ahaha

If he's backed money wise of course he will be.

Not talking net figures but lets say:

Gomes and Zouma cost £25 mil each thats £50mil

A new striker costs £30-40 million

That alone is £85-90 million, add say someone like Neres from Ajax for example for another say £40 million and thats £125-130 million spent.

Add £85 million on top from this season thats over £160- £200 million spent in 2 seasons.

Silva has a 3 year deal

The club aint going to go into a situation where he's in his final year and able to dictate/flash his knickers at other potential clubs - they'll need to make a decision end of next season if he's to get a bumper new deal/pay rise or if he's not the right guy to take us forward.

Silva himself yesterday said we need to be playing in Europe

Jags said yesterday the manager and players will be judged next season not this one.

If you or anyone thinks 8-10th with inconsistent results will be tolerated next season they clearly dont understand the ambitions of Moshiri/Brands.

Im not saying he'll get sacked if he ever fails to get 7th again however he will imo need to show in the first 2 of his 3 year contract that he is capable of achieving european qualification to his employers.

Don’t you agree 7th is a must next year?
I would hope we can get 7th but would I sack him if he didn't get 7th next year? Hell no.
This is a time and effort project, The wheels have barely set in motion I'm not making any kind of demands yet.

I think it’s unacceptable not to get 7th next season in particular things is gathering pace since March. I am certain the manager will be backed again this summer and if we can’t improve on this then what’s the point. Having said that, I have faith in all the parties involved, and they will bring success and eventually this club will break into the top 6, soon.

You know you can improve in other areas that aren't positional finishing? So we sack Silva for not getting 7th and then have another transition period and if that manager doesn't get 7th we sack him, That's just stupid.
We need to give him more than two seasons to build something ffs and not expect everything instantly.

Its like our fans are terrified of success - we have shown shoots of recovery recently but the facts are that money = expectation and if the manager cant provide value for money the owner footing the bill will inevitably get rid thats football/business.

Our fans are still tainted from the grim days of old Bill and no expectation- its why if Spurs fail to get top 4 they'll realistically not be criticised compared to Man City ir Man Utd who have spent bucketloads in comparison.

Watford wont spend anywhere near us this summer

West Ham blew their load this year

Leicester will spend as they normally do £60-70 million ish but not anywhere near the £100 mark. Vardy is also a year older and at some point will lose that pace which will be the end of him ala Distin.

Wolves you dont know but last 2 seasons they havent spent loads and have actually utilised Mendes in the loan market as much as transfer spending - they'll also be dealing with 2nd season syndrome and the Europa League with a small squad and could potentially drop off a cliff.

Basically providing Silva is backed in the summer which it sounds like he has considering both Brands and Silva have said targets have been identified- 7th should be the minimum target next season and anything less the owners have a big decision to make regarding do they let him have a 3rd year or give him a new deal/part ways.

Time yes but results also count. Pretty certain the boss would think the same.

Obviously depending on the summer, but my expectations will definitely be higher next season. 7th minimum is fair (unless we don’t spend etc).

Wolves would be like 11th next year.
