I said I will give him 10 games before I criticise him unless things were going badly wrong. I am still therefore in the supporting capacity. It's a big job with lots to do. Some weaknesses in the playing personnel, and a new system with a host of new players coming in is not going to be an easy thing to overcome. He hasn't over achieved yet, but apart from zonal defending which I'm not too much of a fan of with the players he inherited, then I am reasonably happy as I can see some progress in the team and the way they're playing - even after a 3-1 loss (I only saw the second half).

I know that's criticism but I hope it's fairly supportive. Once Mina comes in, I hope that zonal defending will make more sense with the players we have.

So far I am happier with Silva than the last few managers.
I’m going as far as giving him a free pass this season, that gives him this season to inbed his style of football into the club, then January and next summer to bring in his players and rid the club of the losers we have carried for so long. Then we can judge him properly.

He really needs to stop the team from leaking goals. I don’t know if this is down to his tactics or the lack of quality in the squad. It’s not like we were playing Man City and Chelsea.
Its a combination of two imo. The quality of this side is unquestionably horrendous but we all knew he was a bargain basement Martinez and all his frailties were going to revolve around leaking goals. Everyone knew this other then the higher ups at the club who seemingly never, ever learn!

You live in an utter fantasy land fella
I live in a land where Man City went from nothingness to the best team in the country. They did that by ploughing huge money into their club. They actually backed up their claims that big change was coming.

‘The plans he has for this club are beyond the wildness dreams any Evertonian could imagine’ - Paraphrasing Bill Kenwright when Moshiri joined.

‘Nothing will ever be the same’ - the slogan they promoted.

Why then are we hiring bang average managers? Are we going to magically improve by doing this? No. We headhunt the best available, which Conte is as a free agent, and make hem huge offers. That is the only way we can improve.

Let’s stick to the way you think fans should be behaving, though. It’s really working.

I know you’re trying to make light hat he’s asking for high profile managers, but I don’t see why you’re mocking fans for wanting better.

Fans like yourself deserve this joke of a club we currently have.
Lighten up mate you're calling for a managers head after 6 games. None of which using a full strength team and trying to change the style of play from what Allardyce served up. Needs to be given the season at the least. Obviously as long as we aren't in danger but I doubt with the calibre of teams in the league this season that we will be.

I would be more optimistic about his appointment, I could even have just brushed over the terrible start to the season as just a learning curve, but from what I’ve seen of Silva in the Premier League, he can’t cut it.

It’s like we just haven’t learned from what happened with Martinez at all.

Except here's what you said in May regarding Silva:

So now what you've done, is have the biggest knee-jerk crybaby reaction possible and demand we should've sacked Silva just a month into his job because Conte was suddenly available. Yet if we'd waited until July to appoint a new manager you'd have been doing the most wailing and flapping on here about us not having a manager in place going into pre-season. I used to quite like you as a poster, but you've gone really, really boring lately.

Personally, I think he needs a good four years before anyone can even start to judge him properly.

4 years? planet are you on lad

he'd be lucky to get 4 months in this day in age where managers have a few bad results and get binned

think we've been shocking so far, in disciplined, wasted chances, no organisation , no leaders, no game management, some poor decisions tactically ( starting players and subs )

but he does need time to get the players we brought in fit and back playing when this happens I think we will improve, however he needs to be putting extra work in with the defence but Martinez was absolutely tore apart on here for our defence at times and every game this season our defence has been a shambles
